Slow Pulp is a garage rock / psychedelic rock band from Madison, Wisconsin, US. Their genre bending music definately gives off an original vibe, especially on this EP. Imagine a blend of Tame Impala, Mac Demarco and Wavves.

INFO: Many hardcore Deftones fans probably know a lot of the information in this video already. But for people who aren't too informed about their history yet, this can be an interesting video that gives more insight.
Deftones have released a total of eight albums so far and is currently recording a new one that’s hopefully set to release this year. But the band and their fans have for a long time been aware of one of their unreleased album Eros. This was an album they started working on back in 2007 and began to record in 2008. The project came to a halt when their bassist and bandmate Chi Cheng got in a car accident and fell into a minimally conscious state, making him unable to do more or less anything. In 2009 vocalist Chino Moreno announced that their new album would be delayed indefinitely. Something that lead them to shelf the project for more than a decade. Chino mentioned that Eros would be released at some point though, leaving fans curious to find out when it will be released, what it will sound like and how it encapsulates a time where the band faced personal challenges.

INFO: Emo rock was a genre that developed as a subgenre of hardcore back in the mid 1980s. Some hardcore music started to take more of an emotional approach, leaving the aggression behind and rather introducing sounds that evoked feelings of melancholy, nostalgia and sadness. The tipping point for the genre happened in 1999 with records like "Clarity" by Jimmy Eat World, "Vaya" by At The Drive-in and "Very Emergency" by The Promise Ring just to name a few.

INFO: The Desert Sessions is a musical collective and the original idea of Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme. As a matter of fact it was formed in 1997, just a year after Queens. Homme always believed in the idea of creating and being a part of something different and classic in music by inviting other talented musicians for collaborations. Now you might think ‘sure, who doesn’t want to create music that sounds different and classic?’ But what makes Homme different is his approach to this creative process. The idea is simple. Invite a group of musicians, all from different backgrounds into the California desert, get to know each other despite personal differences and finally, have an open mind to explore new creative ideas together. It essentially sounds like a summer camp for musicians.
It’s been 16 years since the project last put out an album, but now they’re back with two new volumes. And like every other Josh Homme fan, i can't wait to give them a listen. In this video i’ll give you a brief introduction to the project’s early history, creative philosophy and some behind-the-curtain facts about their upcoming album release.

INFO: Homeshake is the RnB-pop and solo-project of the Montreal-based singer-songwriter Peter Sagar. The project was formed in 2012, but although he wanted to do his own thing Peter spent a lot of time supporting Mac DeMarco as a part of his live. In 2014 Peter left and decided to make Homeshake into something more serious. They’ve released 3 albums so far and had close to 1 million monthly listeners on spotify when this video was made.

INFO: To me it seems like the Pixies were one of those bands that came at just the right point in time. They began their journey in the second half of the 80s and although they didn’t experience a booming success, they did have a big influence on bands like Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Pavement and many others. In some instances their success have been compared to The Velvet Underground. They were ahead of the trend. Or maybe they created the trend itself? The one were artists blended metal, punk and noise with classic rock in a mix of extreme dynamics and stop-start timing.

INFO: There’s so much more we can discuss about Primus. The different band members have all been part of other interesting bands, the way Claypool continuously go back to the theme of ocean life and seaworkers is quite interesting and their way of merging funky, heavy and unconventional sounds with comedic lyrics also deserve a mention. In this video i give you an introduction to the band’s overall sound, history and legacy.
