Even though the Netflix shows were all wild cards in terms of whether or not they would be successful, we all had greater faith that Daredevil would be in good hands because it had a stellar cast of well-established writers, directors and actors, and all they had to do was make something that was at least a step up from the 2003 movie adaptation. We had no idea what was in store for us with Melissa Rosenberg’s take on Jessica Jones. Daredevil Summary: With the critical and financial success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, many were wondering if the studio would make a bold leap into television. Even though they had Agents of Shield, which some enjoy (more with every episode), they didn’t have any television shows based on some of their more beloved characters. Though DC still has a lot to prove with their movie universe, they’ve had definitively more success with Arrow and with Flash (which some say might be the best superhero show on Television). However, on November 7th, 2013, a deal was struck with Netflix to bring some of the less recognizable heroes to the smaller screen. Those heroes were Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, culminating in an Avengers-type crossover called “The Defenders”. The level of quality these shows have displayed has blown us away and we are here to discuss them today… starting with the Man Without Fear.
