A review of the Panavise 333 with the details of a fix on a sticky joint.
The 'tilt up and down' adjustment was so tight that the aluminium parts were galling against each other, but a brass shim and some grease soon fixed that.
Apart from that, this is a very nice bit of kit!

Here I'll show you how to make your own high powered USB charger.
It can charge up to 4 devices at over 2 amps each at the SAME TIME!
Perfect for running your Raspberry Pi, phone, tablet, etc.
Here's the parts list:
- IEC socket, fused type. (Or a separate fuse holder if you use an unfused socket).
- Mains rated power switch.
- Miscellaneous resistors.
- Screws and standoffs.
- Wire, thick enough for the high current. I used 0.75mm2
- LED's of your choice in colour.
- 2 amp - 2.5 amp polyfuses.
- Switched USB hub.
- 5 volt, 10 amp power supply unit (open frame or closed frame style).
- Enclosure large enough to house your PSU and USB hub.

In this video I show you how to install a stepper motor damper into your Wanhao Duplicator 6 or Monoprice Maker Ultimate 3D printer to quieten the Z-axis motor for the buildplate.
During actual printing, the sound quietning effect is greater than when homing the build plate, so it is more effective than shown in the video.

Part of an impromptu time-lapse I filmed with my Linux laptop and a webcam overnight. This is in Osaka while on shoot for Stories From Japan. It shows the sun rising (this section of the time-lapse is from 7am to 9am). Due to my cheap setup I had no real exposure control, so you can see auto-exposure kick as the picture brightens up... ah well!
