Obama’s visit to Hiroshima, Japan may be as the president said, a “moral awakening” if his administration hasn’t been preparing for a costly and dangerous nuclear program. Despite the Nuclear Proliferation treaty’s stipulations the US has been developing new weapons which are thirty times more powerful than the bombs that landed in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. If you find this unwise you would be joining former military commanders who have openly opposed the the new nukes. This and more on Redacted Tonight.

Project Censored is an amazing project that collects all of the most important stories from the last year that the corporate media chose not to tell us about. Lee Camp reports some of the highlights from this year with stories about rising prescription drug prices killing the elderly, the strike wave that has shocked big business, the plight of the journalists who’re exposing our ruling class, and more.
Also in this episode:
Lee Camp reports on the CIA’s admission that they have no proof for their Havana Syndrome conspiracy theory, and the unsurprising impacts of a Universal Basic Income pilot program in upstate New York.
Jaffer Khan exposes how the US has been training a militarized Ukrainian Nazi group, the Azov Battalion, since 2015. Members of the Azov Battalion have also been training white supremacist groups here in the US including members of the Unite the Right coalition responsible for killing counter-protester Heather Heyer during one of their hate-rallies in Virginia.
Anders Lee reports on how Maine’s governor recently vetoed a bill that would’ve protected agricultural workers from exploitative employers.

After a Bronx apartment building set on fire earlier this month, killing 17 and injuring many more, a national conversation picked up about low-income housing and tenant rights. New York City’s new mayor initially tried to blame tenants who hadn’t closed the fire door and the people whose space heater may have caused the fire. Lee Camp takes on this story to expose the true culprit responsible for this fire. The corporate media and their developer friends don’t want anybody asking questions like, “Why did the tenants need space heaters to stay warm in their apartments?” and “Why wasn’t the fire door up-to-code?” Those are the important questions but you need to rely on Lee Camp and independent journalists to dig into them and the answers are shocking.
Also in this episode:
Lee Camp looks into the US’s Covid numbers and the Biden Administration’s decision to stop asking hospitals to report the numbers.
Jaffer Khan joins Lee Camp to explain how some young TikTok content creators have used an ingenious strategy to win big on the stock market. Since Congress refuses to hold its members accountable for using privileged information to invest in the stock market – a crime usually referred to as insider trading – some young investors have just started to copy the stock purchases of members of Congress and it’s working.
The fossil fuel industry has copied a policy from the anti-BDS movement to suppress opposition the their inhumane business practices. Instead of attempting to clean up their act and appeal to the public’s consciences the fossil fuel industry is pushing policies across the country that would punish people for boycotting them. Anders Lee reports on their outrageous plan.

A recent New York Time’s article reveals the decline of the “sharing economy” that has come from all of the on-demand service apps out there. Is the Uber revolution over? Or, with changes, can the sharing economy become the next phase of American prosperity? Who knows?! Carlos Delgado does, and he explains on this segment of Redacted Tonight.

Anders Lee interviews Gigi Droesch who organizes with NOlympics LA. The Olympics historically has had a negative impact on the poor in the communities it comes to. With an LA Olympics planned for 2028 Droesch and her cohort of organizers hope to shine a light on that history and convince the city of LA not to go through with hosting the event. In the interview they discuss how the Olympics has ruined lives wherever it has gone, how that mirrors the destructive nature of capitalism, the international links that NOlympics has made in its campaign, and the local situation in LA that makes their campaign so critical at this moment.
Also in this episode:
Naomi Karavani reports on the British lawsuit that would force Uber to treat its drivers like employees. Uber's response to this lawsuit was to threaten to stop operating anywhere that wants them to give the people who make money for their app the basic respect workers deserve. Karavani also reports on the corporate response to people not wanting to work in their low-paying industries. The rich are shocked that they're finding it hard to pay poverty wages for terrible jobs.
Natalie McGill looks into how Big Tech are plotting to defang privacy bills introduced across the nation after California passed one last year. Tech corporations deployed lobbyists to help pass laws that won’t allow consumers to sue Big Tech companies if they abuse their data, and make it more difficult to opt out of having their data harvested and sold to third parties.

Natalie McGill covers law enforcement overreach under a project named "Operation Relentless Pursuit". The project accelerated the militarization of US policing with tens-of-millions in funding for police departments across the country. It began two weeks before the George Floyd uprising. Similar programs have failed to reduce crime before, but have succeeded in targeting the poor.

Anders Lee reports on the new phenomena of many of the US’s minimum wage workers being deemed essential without any of the corresponding pay-raises. In cases where these workers have tried to organize their bosses haven’t treated them like they’re essential and this may drive class conflict as the US economy retracts.
