Racking is the easiest step and sets us up for the longest portion of fomenting process.
At this stage most of the alcohol has been made but now there are lots of dead yeast and their gasses that will not make your mead taste good, so we need to remove all of that by letting it all settle to the bottom and, if needed, using a couple of additives to help clear up the mead if it's still cloudy before bottling.

Making your own alcohol is much easier than you imagine.
Mead is the most ancient of brewing technique and the only skill you need is patience.
What you need:
1)1 gal. sterilized jug
2) 2-3lbs. of honey
3) 3 Liters of water
4) 1g of 118 (or similar) yeast. Different strains yield different alch. % & taste
5a) 25 raisins or similar dried fruit,
or
5b) ferm-k 1g after 6hrs of filling jug, then 1g 18hrs after that.
6) a funnel
7) a plug with vent tube (you can just put a cap on loosely but not as effective in keeping the germs out and you can't watch fermenting as easily.
