Will Gold Crush Stocks? (Secret Indicator)
In this video, I discuss whether gold or stocks (S&P 500) will outperform over the coming decade.
There seems to be a rough pattern where stocks beat gold (as they did in the 1990's), followed by a reversal where gold beats stocks (as it did in the 2000's). Stocks have outperformed gold since about 2013, and it looks like this outperformance is about to reverse for the coming decade.
We just got a golden cross (bullish moving average crossover) in the Gold/SPX ratio weekly chart, which suggests that gold will outperform stocks over the coming decade.
Geopolitical tensions between the U.S., China, and Russia, as well as increasing wealth inequality and social unrest in the U.S. all suggest other reasons why scarce hard assets will outperform financial assets in the coming turbulent decade.
I still expect stocks to go up over the next 10 years, due to massive money printing from the Federal Reserve. But stocks may not have positive net returns when taking into account the devaluation of the U.S. dollar over this period. Something similar has been happening in Zimbabwe over the past few years, where the stock market is up massively (650% in 2020 alone), but the local currency is down so much, that one has still lost real purchasing power by being in Zimbabwe stocks.
The only way to preserve purchasing power in the U.S. will be scarce real assets like real estate, gold, and Bitcoin.

After the Merge, Ethereum will be controlled by large, centralized validators who are regulated and thus under the control of OFAC and the US government. We have recently seen with Tornado Cash, how ready these validators are to bend the knee to government pressure.
If Coinbase refuses to censor transactions, it will lose its government license.
If Coinbase censors a transaction, Vitalik has vowed to slash their stake, thus hurting all retail investors who use Coinbase as their staking service.
The high capital requirements (32 ETH) and technical complexity needed to run a validator ensure that small holders of ETH will either not stake (and thus get diluted) or will stake with larger entities, thus leading to more and more centralization of staking power.
This is why Bitcoin uses Proof of Work. PoW is much less prone to government control and capture.

In this video, I discuss the war on physical cash that is beginning to be waged by economists, central banks, and governments.
Governments dislike physical cash for many reasons:
1) It can be used to avoid paying taxes;
2) It enables privacy, which can be used for both legal and illegal transactions (illegal drug trade, terrorism, prostitution, illegal gambling);
3) Paper money and coins can spread bacteria or viruses like COVID-19;
4) Physical cash makes it difficult for central banks to impose negative nominal interest rates.
When nominal interest rates go negative (as they have in parts of Europe), savers are incentivized to withdraw their money from banks and hold physical cash, in an effort to avoid having their savings depleted by negative interest rates. This makes it more difficult for central banks to lower interest rates below the zero bound.
One way around this is for governments and central banks to gradually abolish cash. They can do this through outright prohibition, by imposing cash holding limits or bank withdrawal limits, by eliminating banknotes (paper money), by charging rent for cash, or by engineering a system where stores must charge a premium for cash purchases over purchases using digital money.
Sweden is projected to go cashless around 2025, and I would expect other countries to follow in their wake.
Both gold and Bitcoin should benefit from this war on physical cash. Gold, in particular, has done well historically when there are negative real interest rates.

In this video, I discuss the upcoming death cross in Bitcoin, and its significance in the context of previous death crosses, the halving cycle, and the stock-to-flow model.
A "death cross" occurs when the 50-day moving average crosses below the 200-day moving average. It is a widely watched indicator, but its predictive value varies over time, and is also dependent on your time horizon and holding period.
My biggest concern is that we are spending too much time trading below the 200-day moving average for a strong bull market.
On the other hand, Bitcoin has been the subject of a concerted attack over the past 2 months: Elon/energy FUD, China FUD, India FUD, FBI hacking FUD, etc.
Is this a coordinated multi-state attack, or simply large powerful investors trying to move Bitcoin to lower prices so that they can accumulate? It's impossible to know for sure.
On the more bullish side, the most deadly death crosses have occurred when Bitcoin was trading well above its fair value as measured by stock to flow (at the 2013 double peak, and 2017 blow-off top).
All the macro fundamentals of Bitcoin are still strong, as we continue to see increased institutional and sovereign adoption, as well as unending central bank money printing.

In this video, I discuss why Bitcoin is a better store of value than physical gold.
Not only is Bitcoin easier to store, transport, and assay-- but Bitcoin is also much more scarce than gold. Bitcoin's maximum supply is fixed forever, whereas gold inventories keep doubling every 47 years.
Unlike other commodities, Bitcoin's supply is perfectly inelastic. Bitcoin does not respond to high prices by bringing on more supply, unlike every other commodity.
Once the market finally figures this out, we will see a large increase in the purchasing power of Bitcoin.

CBDCs make it very easy for governments and central banks to track your income, spending patterns, and to exert their control through targeted stimulus, targeted penalties, and de-platforming enemies of the state.
CBDCs are a central pillar of the coming digital prison, which includes control of the money, as well as biometric tracking, social credit scores, and movement controls.
Only Bitcoin can slay the CBDC dragon. At some point in time, when there is no more physical cash or credit cards or bank accounts, people will begin to move into Bitcoin out of necessity.
