15th JUNE 2023 Let's approach this matter from a realistic and pragmatic standpoint. Throughout history, there have been three notable instances where the S&P continued to rally even after breaking above a PE ratio of 25. These events include the 1999 NASDAQ Madness, the 2009 Lehman Crisis, and the post-Covid QE-ignited rally in 2020. Considering this historical perspective, one may wonder if the current AI-driven rally will be the next significant market event for 2023. While I may not possess the extensive resources or expertise of esteemed institutions like Morgan Stanley or Bank of America, I firmly believe in the power of market patterns. It is a widely acknowledged observation that bear markets tend to materialize when confidence and complacency are at their peak, while bull markets often emerge when devastation and despondency prevail. Acknowledging the risks involved, I am fully aware that my forecast of a market peak between the 13th and 15th of June is akin to pointing a gun at my own head. However, I prefer to err on the side of caution rather than chase the Dow at the 34,000 level, especially considering recent confirmations of technical recession in both New Zealand and Germany. Furthermore, the CNN Fear and Greed Index has surged to an alarming 81, a level of fervor we last witnessed in February 2023, which resulted in the S&P losing 380 points shortly thereafter. By performing a simple calculation, it becomes evident that if a similar scenario were to unfold, the Dow could potentially experience a decline of up to 3,000 points.
