I’ve managed to save more than half my income and in this series, I will be explaining in-depth some of the practical ways that I save money and how you can utilize these tips to do the same for yourself. This series may change over time, but for the most part I will cover practical tips as well as different concepts for personal finance. I’ve managed to save more than half of my income for two quarters in a row and if I continue to do so and invest that money, I should be able to technically retire in 10 years while living on off the same expenses and keeping the same lifestyle. There is a misconception in investing whether it’s crypto or stocks that something of high value must only be a high value because it’s successful and thus legitimate. I want to break down why this is absolutely not the case. Whether we look at Hertz swinging with crazy volatility as it goes bankrupt or SushiSwap going up to $10 right away and now down to $1, we know that high value doesn’t mean stable or legitimate. What’s more important though is when we have projects with high market caps on the verge of basically scamming people. Now while I’m not accusing any of these projects of being scams, they all have many red flags that one could then lead to that conclusion themselves upon verifying. I’ve covered this all before but never touched HEX on video, so here we go. We will be looking again at Theta, DLive, and now HEX too. The reasons being that: 1. Funnily enough, the day I reviewed this Samsung dropped out of its partnership with Theta. People keep telling me I was wrong because the price went up. It’s funny because it’s only gotten worse, but I never said the price wouldn’t go up. Not enough people have seen my video, they’re working with previous co-founders from YouTube and Twitch so I’m unsurprised they can pull off big partnerships. While the nodes may do well, the platform is a money suck and I’m surprised anyone’s patronizing it (though few are). There’s a lot of misconceptions about the ETH Merge. Let’s talk about them and share exactly what has changed and what the future holds. This is my 539th episode/article. I put a great deal of work into this content so if you find it valuable, please do like, share, comment and subscribe! This is a great resource for everything about the Ethereum Merge: https://ethereum.org/en/upgrades/merge/. Ethereum switched from proof of work to proof of stake. Not a lot else has changed yet, but it has set a lot in motion. Namely the stakers are now running the network instead of the miners, however there is no notable changes for end users. ETH will stay the same in terms of the ticker and you don’t have to do anything in your wallets to switch over. Another major change is that by switching from proof of work to proof of stake will reduce the energy consumption of Ethereum by ~99.95% which is huge given a major criticism of proof of work blockchains is that they are energy intensive and not environmentally friendly. For simplicity, we are now calling Eth1 the execution layer where transactions are handles and Eth2 the proof of stake consensus for validators. That’s it. The merge was a bit overhyped, even by me. However, it marks the start of a major shift for Ethereum where it will be ahead of most of it competitors that popped up and marketed themselves purely on the basis of doing more transactions at a lower gas fee while Ethereum aims to crush these chains. Espousing your opinions as facts do a disservice to your credibility and the credibility of the concepts you are trying to support. When you conflate your opinion and the factual reality we presently live in, you are entering a rabbit hole for fallacies. The issue here is that someone who is very confident in their opinions or someone who has expert knowledge of the in-group, it is very likely that they can impress or manipulate anyone outside of that in-group. It could be as simple as the in-group of gamers and non-gamers to something more applicable like the in-group for politically informed and those who are uninformed. Typically, this results in something like the alphabet soup fallacy which I previously shared was where someone uses terms to confuse or manipulate others with in-group knowledge such as using acronyms or language that is likely to be unknown to those in the out-group.
