The 2024 Subaru Impreza marks the sixth generation of this compact car model. The latest iteration introduces a range of updates, including a redesigned exterior, enhanced performance, improved safety features, and updated multimedia technology. The Impreza is now exclusively offered as a 5-door hatchback and comes in three trim levels: Base, Sport, and the new RS trim. The exterior of the sixth-generation Impreza features a sportier design, especially in the 5-door hatchback configuration. The RS trim stands out with unique exterior elements such as RS badging, 18-inch alloy wheels with a dark gray finish, black accents on the front grille, side spoilers, and side mirrors, and upgraded LED headlights. The overall dimensions of the Impreza are as follows: wheelbase of 105.1 inches, length of 176.2 inches, width of 70.1 inches, height of 58.3 inches, and a ground clearance of 5.1 inches. The Impreza's trunk/hatch provides a cargo capacity of 19.9 cubic feet, which can be expanded to 54.7 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. In terms of engine options, the RS trim comes with a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER® engine delivering 182 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque. The Base and Sport trims are equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder direct-injection SUBARU BOXER® engine generating 152 horsepower and 145 lb.-ft. of torque. All trim levels feature a Lineartronic CVT as standard, while the Sport and RS trims offer an 8-speed manual mode with steering wheel paddle shifters. Inside the Impreza RS, you'll find distinctive interior trim accents, sport front seats in black cloth with red cloth bolsters, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter handle, aluminum alloy pedals, a wireless phone charger, and USB-A and USB-C charging ports in the rear center console. Additionally, the RS trim offers optional features such as a Harman Kardon® 10-speaker system, a power moonroof, and a 10-way power front driver seat with lumbar support. On the technology front, the 2024 Impreza introduces a 11.6-inch SUBARU STARLINK® center information display and offers wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto connectivity. The vehicle boasts a 10-percent stiffer chassis for improved body rigidity and lighter weight, contributing to enhanced performance. It also comes with improved EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology as standard, and models equipped with Blind-Spot Detection, Lane Keep Assist, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert include Automatic Emergency Steering. The Impreza's fuel efficiency is rated at 26 MPG in the city, 33 MPG on the highway, and 29 MPG combined by the EPA. The starting MSRP for the Impreza is $22,995, while the RS trim begins at $27,885. These updates and features make the 2024 Subaru Impreza an attractive option for those seeking a compact car with modern design, performance, safety, and technology enhancements. This week we drove the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum 4WD. After spending a full week, and a busy week at that, with the new Pathfinder I ended up liking it a whole lot. For large families like mine, I put this now solidly in my top 3 favorite SUVs – not including larger ones like the Suburban or Expedition. In this segment, I really like the Dodge Durango R/T mostly, this new Pathfinder secondly, and the new Toyota Highlander rounding up my top 3. In this video, we check out the 2020 Cadillac XT6 Sport AWD. This is a luxury, 3-row CUV from Cadillac so if you have a larger family and want the luxury of a Cadillac, without moving into the Escalade, this vehicle might be for you. Cadillac has been changing up its SUV offerings, not just with new styles but also new nameplates. You now have the Cadillac XT4 - which is their smallest CUV and one that I’ve reviewed not too long ago. You have the XT5 a larger 2-row CUV, you have the XT6 a 3-row CUV based on the same platform as that XT5 and the same platform as other GM vehicles like the GMC Acadia or Buick Enclave. Then, of course, you have the big daddy, the Escalade which we’ve also reviewed recently and they’ve just come out with an all-new design there as well so looking forward to getting more coverage of that. This week I drove the new 2018 BMW X2 xDrive 28i. BMW classifies this as a sports activity vehicle which is cool but it’s basically just a small SUV based on the X1 platform but it’s a coupe version of the X1. As well as sharing a platform with the X1 this BMW shares a platform with the Mini Clubman and Countryman and the 1-Series sedan. There are 2 options when it comes to getting your X2 – one would be an X2 sDrive 28i and the other an X2 xDrive28i. The big difference here is that the xDrive is BMW’s all-wheel-drive model and the sDrive is a Front-wheel drive. If you enjoyed the video, please give me a big thumbs up! (more on the X2) One of the things to take note of with the exterior style is these inverted kidney grills. Those inverted kidney grilles create a new look for BMW who’s looking for a fresh take on their iconic design. Up front you get LED headlights with cornering lights as well as LED fog lights. I think the wheels really look good on this vehicle as well. On standard trims you get an 18-inch wheel but can also get a 19-inch like the ones our tester is rocking. You also get a throwback badge on the C-Pillar as you wouldn’t want anyone to mistake this compact SUV as anything but a BMW. Under the hood No matter what trim you choose, under the hood you’ll get a 2.0-liter TwinPower turbo 4-cylinder engine. That’s good for 228-hp and 258-lb ft of torque pushed through an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.
