Planning a single engine flight over water takes a lot of planning. Here I am going to take X Plane 11 fun flight over water to share a little of the planning and dangers you should consider doing one of these flights. Planning altitudes and routes, considering your glide distance should the worse happen over water and how your going to survive an emergency is all part of flying and staying alive when overflying water.

to be a tutorial channel as I am not an Instructor.
I have over 20 years in aviation but my background is military aircraft but not as a pilot. I am/was a technician with
experience on all the RAAF had to offer while I was in the Air Force.I was truly fortunate and also got to fly in many
of the transports, helicopters even doing some door gunnery.
For me the highlight was having a fun flight in a Mirage IIIO and flights on Macchi Jet trainers. More fun with your
clothes on you cannot have... :)

Looking for some real fun then X Plane combat flights are a lot of fun. Flying combat in x plane 11 and having that military pilot experience is a lot of fun. Today we are flying the Spitfire Mk IV in combat against the Macchi 339 and Lancaster Bombers for a challenge. Yes they are armed and ready to fight back so lets kill everything!
Dog fighting in X Plane 11 is as simple as selecting your military aircraft, choosing weapons as well as your AI foe's. You select AI aircraft and set them as an enemy or have some wing man by selecting friendly and most importantly select the ENABLE COMBAT box and select ok!
Setting the weapons load and the difficulty is easy in the aircraft menu then away you go!
Select some enemy aircraft and away you go!
Lets go try and shoot down some big nasty jets over Wales in Mr 3D's WW2 Airport.

Today I am looking at another serious flying emergency with a component failure. Ailerons, undercarriage Elevators and Flaps are known to fail on rare occasions so as pilots we have to be ready.
If it wasn't going to happen the Pilot Operating Manual or POH wouldn't have procedures for it and what to do!
It can occur.
Elevator failures could occur due to over stress or some impact. Maybe a bird strike. The fact remains it can happen so we should practice and be ready for any and all failures. Its our responsibility
X Plane 11 is a fantastic place to start trying out and practicing new procedures so you can be more ready should it actually occur.
Lets see if we can land at Bankstown with a stuck elevator!
If your a real world pilot then you appreciate as I do anything can and will happen when your flying.
Probably first on the list is an engine failure during flight but instruments cause crashes and even controls can fail.
Instances of trims being installed in reverse and cables reversed have happened.

The latest DCS World 2.7 has a huge amount of improvements so lets do a DCS Open Beta Clouds Performance test how good are they really and see why the new clouds are the talk of the town. Lets check the performance at 1080P with my Ryzen 2600 and RTX 2060 Super with 32 Gig DDR4 3200 Ram.
This should be interesting. We will test the performance at ULTRA cloud setting in Clear, Scattered, Broken, Overcast and Overcast plus Rain. That one is truly deadly!

I really love spinning aircraft in X Plane 11 because it feels so realistic, especially when done in virtual reality with my Oculus Rift S.X Plane 11 flight school aircraft spinning practice. This is really incredibly scary and unbelievable aircraft spinning in X Plane 11. It ultimately shows how realistic flight sims like X Plane 11. Aircraft spinning is a lot of fun and a great leaning experience in your favorite flight simulator. Today we are in X Plane 11 and the freeware Ziln-142 which is huge fun to throw around doing aerobatics and spinning. It has some quirks of its own we will discover in this and a new upcoming video on adverse yaw. That one is a head spinner as well.

I earned my Sport Pilot License some years back and enjoy my time flying immensely. Flying VFR around the Adelaide northern towns has been a challenge and a lot of fun.
