"I don't want to die!" Climate Exploitation of Children
Children are being used as proxies for climate change hysteria across Canada. Ecojustice is acting on behalf of children in taking the Ontario government to court of the relaxation of certain climate laws, and a key child turns out to be the child of a woman who is on the board of the non-profit foundation of "We Don't Have Time" - the green billionaire carbon offset platform that uses Greta as their walking advertisement. The National Post has reported that even 7 year olds are being terrified in class on climate ‘We’re going to die’: Toronto mother says young daughter terrified by school presentation on climate change ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNnHjmZvYKs
When he began teaching about the ice ages at the start of his career, Dr. Ian Clark stressed the link between rising CO2 and 20th century climate warming. However, closer examination of the subject and new science convinced him that climate was far more complex with other more important factors. Despite the considerable number of scientists who share the view that CO2 is NOT causing dangerous climate change, western democracies are on a road to become carbon neutral, Net Zero, by 2050. His talk will review what we know and do not know about climate and assess the potential to achieve net zero with hydro, wind, solar and the most controversial source of reliable power, nuclear.
Dr. Clark also hosted Friends of Science Society's 2008 documentary "Climate Catastrophe Cancelled." You can watch that here: https://youtu.be/KnipKZAhgW4

This white board explainer gives viewers some insights on why and how the climate change narrative has become so exaggerated and scary. This is based on a post by Ottawa energy policy consultant, former public servant and diplomat, Robert Lyman. Robert Lyman has spent much of his professional career reviewing, advising and proposing climate and energy-related policies for the Canadian government. His article is here: https://blog.friendsofscience.org/2020/07/23/you-wont-die-from-climate-change-heres-why/

The arrival of climate activist Greta Thunberg, by racing sailboat to New York City, has unleashed a frenzy of commentary on twitter. Some are concerned for the pressure this young woman faces on the world stage, some believe her to be the puppet of green crony capitalists, and other are sneering at her energy critics - calling them old, white men who just 'don't get it' on energy. In fact, most engineers are men, many of them older, mature and experienced people who are responsible for having created the critical and built infrastructure and inventions we enjoy in our daily lives. Thanks to brilliant engineers, we have reliable heat, power, transportation systems and communications! On the topic of energy, they KNOW what they are talking about, and the supporters of high school dropout Greta, do not. So let's get the climate striker kids back into the classroom learning how to be the next generation of engineers. Let's have those who made so much of modern life possible, teach these passionate youth the realities of how things work. Despite being told for years that wind and solar are cheap and 'free', the energy crisis is revealing the truth. "To get wind you need oil"...lots of it, along with lots of natural gas and coal. In addition to these costs, wind and solar also require exotic commodities and rare earth minerals, all of which have been skyrocketing in price by hundreds or thousands of per cent in a few short months. Consequently, instead it being a springtime of tulips, it is, for these industries, 'Tulip-O-Mania.' 'Tulip-O-Mania' refers to a time in Holland when tulips first arrived from Turkey. They were so rare and beautiful that a vast futures market began, with a single tulip bulb escalating to the value of a house or a ship. Toward the end of this 'bubble', people were paying a fortune for tulip 'offset' bulbs from tulips that had not even been planted or propagated yet. Similarly, carbon markets have been based on the Renewable Energy Credits generated by wind and solar and since carbon markets entail 'the lack of delivery of an invisible substance to no one' there's room for a lot of hanky-panky. This is discussed in Interpol's "Guide to Carbon Trading Crime." Some wind producers are now reporting that they are selling products at a loss just to maintain cash flow and some jobs. Clearly no country will be able to rely on wind and solar as a 'net zero' solution in such a market. People should question why governments are still pushing wind and solar when this is the reality. Certainly not 'cheap' or 'free' - not that they ever were! Please read our report: https://blog.friendsofscience.org/2021/10/20/what-you-really-need-to-know-about-renewable-energy-that-the-pembina-institute-wont-tell-you-parts-a-and-b/

Three Garden Gnomes - Lumpy, Bumpy, and Grampy - notice that the two children who used to play in the garden now sit like statues, frozen with fear of 'something'. They hop over to inquire what's going on. The Gnomes are horrified to hear that the kids have been told at school that the oceans will boil, the ice will melt and the polar bears will drown! It turns out that Grampy is a geologist by training and he's studied the 4.5 billion years of climate change. So he helps the children understand that the author of that book, and Greta, are misinfomed on the claim of climate emergency. In fact he reveals that the author made a mistake in his book "Storms of My Grandchildren" - a mistake he admits to in his upcoming new book. A mistake that was only off by 999,999,500 years! The Gnomes tell they children the truth - that the world is full of wonder and that each of them is a miracle, living in a miraculous, beautiful world. Much loved miracles all.

The City of Calgary declared a Climate Emergency in November 2021, premised on claims that the cost of inaction on climate would be too high, and that Calgary's actions would have significant climate impact. The estimated cost of the program is some $87 billion. A year later, in November 2022, the Parliamentary Budget Officer issued a report that showed the cost of inaction on climate is negligible and that even Canada's efforts would not affect climate change; obviously Calgary's even less so. This presentation explores the serious flaws of the Calgary Climate Plan - the reliance on a scenario known as RCP8.5 (Representative Concentration Pathway) which is an implausible socio-economic and climate scenario, but is framed as 'conservative' in the Calgary economic assessment. Calgary faces many real and present challenges. Likewise, NetZero 2030 or 2050 targets are not achievable. This presentation explains why. Burdening our children with debt for dubious 'climate action' projects that will only make green crony capitalists rich and will make ordinary Calgarians poor is contrary to good public policy. Making a plan without proper due diligence as to the likelihood that it is achievable is mismanagement. With the new insights from the Parliamentary Budget Officer's report, it is clear that the Calgary Climate Emergency Declaration must be rescinded and the $87 billion climate plan must be scrapped. Please help us continue to do the due diligence that the City of Calgary has not done. Send us an etransfer to: contact@friendsofscience.org - or join us! Parker Gallant has written a series of blog posts that explore the “Pan Canadian Expert Collaboration” – the taxpayer-funded $20 million group who were to look into carbon pricing and climate change policies. He found a rabbit warren of back-scratching, tax-subsidized charities, green crony capitalists and not an impartial one amongst them. This video introduces the public to Parker Gallant’s amazing series of articles: https://parkergallantenergyperspectivesblog.wordpress.com/?s=phase+one
