Tiny Studio Sessions is a series of performance videos I’ve been doing that feature guitar improvisation over loops I construct on the Akai Force machine.
This drum groove is called a half-time shuffle. Some folks call it a “Purdie Shuffle” as it was popularized by the great drummer, Bernard Purdie. There’s a lot of cool stuff on YouTube about him and the beat. Also, I was thinking about a really cool Jack McDuff album called “Moon Rappin’” that has some of these types of keyboard tones.
