When one is scared, one should say, "Allah is enough for us and the Best of Guardians." [Aal Imran 3:173] These words were said by Ibrahim al-Khalil, peace be upon him, when he was thrown in the fire by the idolaters and it was also said by the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, when the people said, "'The people have gathered against you, so fear them..."' When one is being conspired against, one should say, "I consign my destiny entirely to Allah. Truly Allah sees His slaves." When one wants something from this world, one should say, "It is as Allah wills, there is no strength but in Allah." [al-Anbiya 21:88] Imam an-Nawawi relates in his Adhkar on the authority of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqaas, may Allah be pleased with him, who said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying, 'I know some words than no distressed person says except that he is relieved from it, the words of my brother Yunus [Dhu Nun], may Allah bless him and grant him peace: "He called out in the pitch darkness: 'There is no god but You!
