A mid-April visit to the Pine Valley Pathway using a fat-tire bicycle to cover the central loop and a southwestern loop. I held this video up till I had a chance to come back and shoot the north loop, but now that I have I see they need to be two separate videos anyway, so look for the north loop visit video coming soon. I hope to return to PVP soon to explore the southeastern loop down to Stewart Lake.

Hootenanny 2016. A George Harrison cover from All Things Must Pass.
UnfortunatelyI switched over to my second camera for this one, and it's ALC really changed the dynamics of the recording. But I like Charlie's take on this classic.

Two live recordings of Dan performing Green River to entertain the audience between sets. In the first, Dave Root tries to find the rhythm to accompany, kind of an interesting take or layer towards the end where he has picked up on the tune.. A second, bare version starts at 3:53, very nice.

The first real snow for the 2012-2013 winter. Also a video and audio test of my new Kodak Z5120 and a preliminary review. I bought this a sort of a bridge camera, my Canon A720 is getting a bit dated, but things are changing so fast with HDR and better resolution, that I'm going to wait a few more years till I buy something more upscale. Found this on Ebay for $159 (new), so I pounced on it. Hopefully in a few years Canon will make a camera with a decent frame-rate in 1080p, or Nikon 's point and shoots will get reliable, or someone will get it all together...
Still learning this camera, haven't really looked at the manual much yet. So far
Pros: HD video, pretty good audio, 'AA' batteries 16MP
Cons: Bulk, manual lens cap, mics pick up zoom motor, auto focus in dim light (indoors), audio AGC a bit aggressive.

238 images and seven video clips. In this sixth part of "My Rhine Journey" I start and end with images of the parks and bridge where our ship was moored. In between, a tour into Strasbourg with a little free time as well. See my "My Rhine Journey" playlist.

Someone took the signs making my goal of finding these falls difficult. I already posted a short how-to-find video, this video is a longer version of the same, including the unsuccessful first attempt with a lot of autumn forest photos, and then the contents of the shorter video except remade with a lot more images of the waters.
Actually, there are little falls on both sides of the river, in this stretch below the Hodenpyl dam. I probably missed a stream or two that could be hiked to from this point. From forest road #1 turn left onto 7123 aka "E. Sweets Ravine". The sign is missing at this left turn into a sandy road. The road is in bad shape, maybe why someone marked this place as closed on Google and took the signs. There is a deeply rutted muddy stretch a few hundred feet before the trailhead, note a parking space carved out just before it. 7123 continues till it intersects The Manistee River Trail but is gated with several parking spaces carved out of the woods. The sign for the falls is missing. 7120 aka Blueberry Ln., intersects 7123 at this trailhead too. Probably more impressive in Springtime, but getting back there could be tough. GPS and AWD recommended.

I've been happy with my Hamilton Beach toaster oven for about a year and a half till recently where it stopped working. I disassemble the unit in order to find what failed. Then I did some online research where I concluded that it has been discontinued. There still are a few NOS Type 057s for sale online. I can not get parts but I find a fix.

This club has preserved about 40 acres of land around Bear Creek since 1939. Located on Coates Highway near Brethern, Michigan. The public can visit to walk the trail loops or to access Bear Creek. This is the only public access to Bear Creek I could find other than by the Big Manistee.
