Snaps & Flatpaks were supposed to replace traditional software repos with better & safer app containers. What happened?
Well, reality happened. It's been over a year since my last video about Snaps and Flatpaks and to be honest, little has changed. Especially with Snaps.
Flatpak 1.0 released this month which brought it fully out of beta-mode. Snap (Snapd, Snapcraft, etc) has been version 2 for over a year, though you wouldn't know that if you used it today.
Snap (also called Snappy) has its own little AppStore which can also integrate somewhat into the Ubuntu Software Center. Snapcraft development is largely sponsored by Canonical, the folks behind Ubuntu Linux.
Flatpak has it's own AppStore of sorts called Flathub. Flatpak and Flathub integrate into Gnome Software, though the breadth of this integration largely depends on your distribution. For example, the integration is flawless in Fedora, but more or less broken in openSUSE.
Ultimately, Snaps and Flatpaks do not replace your distributions software repositories, they at best augment it. If you are using Arch, just use the AUR.

The Antec ISK 110 chassis is a tiny VESA case that I thought would be perfect for a Steam Machine. Turns out that it works *OK* but I think it's a tad bit too small for my liking.
I used an AMD A6 6400k for the processor and the GPU. I currently have it underclocked because since the ISK 110 chassis doesn't accommodate fans very well, the CPU generates too much heat. Despite being underclocked, the A6 6400k does a great job for movie watching or casual gaming.
In retrospect. I think the Antec ISK 300-150 would be a better case for most people who want to build a Steam Machine. The ISK 300 accommodates both fans and discrete GPU cards.

Gnome Builder provides a super quick and easy way to create and bundle your applications as Flatpaks!
Bundling your application as a Flatpak means that it will run on **any** Linux distribution that have Flatpak installed which is most distributions by default at this point (Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, etc).
A few months ago I made a video where I created a Vala application on ElementaryOS using Gnome Builder. The developer of Builder pointed out that I was using a very old version of Builder, so I installed the latest version.. And wow! Gnome Builder is amazing!
So in this video I took an old Nibbles/Snake clone I wrote in Vala several years ago and packaged it as a Flatpak. I only needed to make very minor changes for this to work.

In this episode of Distro Delves we take a look at SparkyLinux, a Debian "bullseye" based Linux distribution released on February 10, 2020.
SparkyLinux has been around for quite some time and is, in many ways, a highly customizable build of Debian.
I reviewed SparkyLinux semi-rolling in this video which is based on Debian Testing. The regular SparkyLinux release line is based on Debian Stable, just like its contemporaries like MX Linux.
SparkyLinux is the power-user's Linux desktop. It's not perfect for Linux gaming but it's pretty darn good for everything in between.

Is ArcoLinux the best Arch Linux installer out there? Is it even a Linux distribution in its own right? How does it perform compared to vanilla Arch?

Impromtu jam session from the OpenMandriva live stream. Chord progression is B, A, E, tuned to open Dmaj. Idk what I was noodling. Basically whatever sounded good.
The original cut from the live stream was out of sync so it sounded good but didn't look cool at all. I downloaded the stream and fixed up the tracks in Kdenlive to bring you this!
