TBS Discovery - NAZA to FrSky to Taranis telemetry update
Well, it's nearly finished with all the bugs ironed out. All I've got to do, is finish the documentation and then I'll share it :-) Also, my TBS Discovery has new Graupner 9 inch props and I've upgraded to 4s ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOKOPS5cP10

Over the course of 3 weeks, I've been mostly lying down and bored. I decided to use that time to design and build something worthwhile but I got carried away.
The first one is just a 3S 8P pack with a voltage readout - it'll handle 10A output so it could be used to power an RC field charger.
The second one is the same as the first but it also has an ammeter on the output and also, a 5V 3A USB output to charge phones. Again, it could be used to power an RC field charger.
The cost of parts to build the 3rd one which, in itself, is an RC field charger (not including the cells) is below £50. It's an 8S 3P pack and it'll kick out 30V @ 5A but it does go down to 0.01V and 0.001A.
Each of the designs use a 252Wh battery but it could be more with 3000mAh cells.
The STL files will be available on Thingiverse when I've done all the build instruction videos. If I get 142 likes, I'll push it to the top of the list ?

Due to my declining mental health and my right leg being in constant agony, I'm raising funds to hopefully get private treatment. The 2 flights of stairs I have to climb when I get home are becoming more and more painful and hard to climb. I honestly can't afford to buy another property on a ground floor so I'm stuck. This may be the most stupid thing I've ever done and I don't know if it'll give me enough money to do it but I've got to try, I'm desperate!
This is a collection only sale. You can arrange for someone else to collect, I don't mind. I'm in the Cannock area (WS6). Email me at vortecks2000@gmail.com
I'm going nowhere and I will start making good content again soon, this is just the journey of my life. Pretty shit ain't it?

This is the Sequre SQ-SW2 mini spot welder. It's perfect for 0.1mm or 0.15mm nickel but as you saw, it doesn't weld thicker stuff very well.
Overall, it's well worth the money and it'll get you up and running in no time!

The SQ-SW1 which I've shown is also available https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_AejLvK

Sorry it's only a crappy video. I've spent hours and hours, trying to get everything working on the SPRacingF3Mini but it's not having it. I've now gone back to what works best..... the Naze32 :-)
If anyone wants me to do some videos on SoftSerial and how to wire and setup a GPS, OSD and Bluetooth, drop a comment below.

Sorry guys, I haven't got a lot to share with you this week so I thought I'd share this........
This is the Hobbyking bungee launcher which is made of fibreglass. It's lethal stuff and WILL make your hands itch. You have been warned! :-)
If anyone wants to know why I haven't been flying recently, I'm not too well but I'm on the mend....... it's a slow process :-(

As soon as I pressed the 'publish' button, I realised that I'd made a mistake. When I said "75A output" I meant "75V panel voltage". Sorry for the confusion.
I was offered some second-hand LiitoKala Lii-50A 26650 5000mAh cells and some of them didn't have the best start in life. I salvaged 120 of them to make a 2.5kWh solar battery bank. I designed and 3D printed the holders and it's all working perfectly!

This is a very big project I'm working on and it's something I can do when I'm lying down or sitting. I need to keep my brain active so I was looking at all the designs of a BMS and I didn't know why none of them do everything. I don't know of a BMS that is none invasive (where you have to split your main battery wires) but it will also shut everything down if something goes wrong.
I wanted a BMS that does active balancing instead of passive - active balancing doesn't lose energy like passive does, it transfers energy instead of losing it by resistance.
I wanted a BMS that links to the controller (it currently connects to any VESC controller and I'm working on Kelly controllers) and displays all the controller details along with all the battery cell details.
I wanted a BMS that logs EVERYTHING (speed, Amps, Watts, cell voltages and anything else you can think of).
I wanted a BMS that's easy (in comparison) to install.
I wanted a button with a launch control to keep the front wheel planted on the ground.
None of this wireless crap which is a security risk, the head unit is the power source. If you unplug it, the controller and BMS are completely disabled and you cannot use whatever it's linked to.
If any part of the BMS fails, it simply doesn't work. There's no risk like other BMS's of draining the battery when something fails.
Above all, it has to be affordable with very few components. Although it's costing me every spare penny to develop it, it shouldn't cost more than an ANT BMS but it does a whole lot more.

Please note: This video was taken many months ago, it's gone through a lot of changes since then and I now have the basis of a fully functioning system. These videos are only to show what goes into developing a product, the product is now working so please don't leave comments saying that I should do this or that, it's already been done.
