Take what you know about Wario, flip the first letter around, increase your consistency, distance and accuracy while lessening the brazenness of your shots and you got Mario!
Mario is, without a doubt, the hardest opponent thus far and unfortunately, we have to play him on one of the hardest courses in the game. Just because Mario's Star is an overall tough course does not mean that Mario will be at all fazed. In fact, expect to be doing an amazing job putting you on edge for most of the match. The AI is truly not playing around anymore and you will need to bring your best game if you want to take the win from the plumber and FINALLY unlock him in 1-Player modes.
The scary part of this all? This is just the warm-up for the TRUE match after this one...

Here's a very crude, very unplanned Special Weapon Experiment of the eight ladies that tormented me and killed me a bunch of times. The end result, a lot of them REALLY don't like their own medicine save for two and there's some slight weaknesses here and there. Sure, there are many deaths but it's all in the name of SCIENCE!

If there's one thing that can be praised about Donkey Kong Country Returns, it's implementing old-school mechanics in a way that is somewhat fresh. Thanks to the 3D world that this game takes place in, you're no longer stuck to the left-to-right, up-to-down lifestyle. Now we have some nice new perspectives and of course, the interesting use of obstacles and other crafty elements.
But the number one thing that the DKC Returns series does MUCH better over its predecessors is the respawning system. The reason why dying in DKCR isn't all that bad is the game doing a great job not wasting your time upon losing a life. You're out of it and then you're back into the level without a minute-long pause. Speedrunners and casual players will both love this as it keeps you engaged in the game!
Coupled with some stunning new sights to show off and neat effects, one question does fall heavily upon any player's mind after getting through six levels... what's the boss like?

Revenge of Meta Knight... I have great things to say about this game, but questions too. WHY is Meta Knight wanting revenge and on who exactly? King Dedede for being a slightly inept, mischievous punk of a ruler? Kirby for kicking his ass even though he was trying to sabotage him with the use of sugar rushes? Or... just society in general for being lazy and egotistical? Whatever the case, Meta Knight is pissed and he has a warship to show he's not playing around this time! Come join Kirby as we take down the Halberd with some rather strict conditions! Can Kirby get through this sub-game with one of his most useful innate abilities limited? Let's find out!

After clobbering a kiity-in-the-box, we finally reach our objective. Being that this is an RPG, and that we've clearly forced our way in here, L'Arc and friends are soon greeted with red armor and... black robes. The latter, I REALLY wish I didn't see because I cannot hate this guy enough. The Douchechanter is back to make our lives miserable yet again, but it's not just him that pisses me off, it's... ANOTHER guy along with it.
Reapers with ascots though, pure failure all around...

The Chimera is certainly a boss that can take you by surprise! The way he ambushes you out of nowhere and the fact that he is a rather tricky boss. The boss consists of three body parts: Head, Wing and Arm. You have to destroy all three to kill it, but depending on which part you destroy will disable certain attacks. Moreover, it has a VERY dangerous attack by the name of Big Sin! This attack will likely kill you if you're not defending. Listen to your characters and bring some Fire-resistance and bulky tanks like Rasten for this one! Pelting him with Water and Wind attacks will be very beneficial as this guy CAN and WILL last a good while!

Kirby's Dream Course, a game that I have come to believe is one of the hardest Kirby games in the series. The reason why is that it is a golf game. For those unfamiliar with golf, many video games centered around the sport have the focus on meticulous aspects in order to make for an immersive experience. While Kirby's Dream Course is definitely a beginner's take on that, it is still with a focus on trial-and-error and solid execution.
First time playing through this game, I believed that I died numerous times and felt like getting Silver medals were more than difficult enough. Years later, a stream on GDQ's Twitch channel made me return and reflect on this game. It is a surprisingly fun and well-thought out Kirby game where you need to complete the holes of a course, stages that are with a puzzle-like orientation. The puzzle? Defeat all the enemies and sink ball Kirby into a cup in the least amount of strokes/shots. One nice thing is that Kirby can use his abilities upon hitting some of the enemies and they will prove to be great assets in your goal of getting the lowest scores in this game.
However, are you a bad enough puff to take down King Dedede? Give it a shot for yourself and find out!
