just getting out and doing a little test of some ammunition I reloaded after the last gunshow here in Pensacola. Also just recently got my amateur radio license and am excited about getting a 2-meter radio in my truck in addition to the cb Uniden Grant already installed. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnUBmPRFl7I

The summer RaDAR (Rapid Deployment Amateur Radio) challenge. The RaDAR concept was introduced by Eddie Leighton, ZS6BNE in South Africa. I deployed from several parks around town, logged 15 contacts, and tried for a satellite (AO85) contact.

I did a short test of my portable packet station today. I was able to reach my home BBS station about 5-7 miles away that operates as a winlink gateway. It is good to get out with your equipment every once in a while to keep yourself familiar with it and make sure everything is working as expected.

A bad camshaft synchro was driving me nuts with it's chirping and recently was causing some bucking/missing from the engine at high rpms. There was a TSB on this...google it, it's there (search for "ford 3.0L cam synchronizer tsb").
This worked out well for me, but I'm not a mechanic. I have no professional mechanical training. So, embark on this task at your own risk. I will not be held responsible if you screw something up on your vehicle. There's your disclaimer...you have been warned.

Happy New Year, my YouTube friends. Today I am showing off my station located in the man cave of my house. Among the equipment is an APRS station, a D-Star radio with D-RATS software running, a ham mesh node, as well as other equipment. Hopefully someone new to the hobby will find this video and it may spark a new interest in the various things that can be done with ham radio.

Today, I went to Kinsaul Park in Lynn Haven, FL to try to get into the AO91 amateur satellite. I was using my homebrew log periodic antenna and my Yaesu FT1DR handheld. I wasn't able to make any contacts today, but did hear several stations. N4KGL was also at the park trying for the satellite as well. He did say he could hear me over the satellite...so at least there was that.
We will definitely keep trying.

Today, my wife and I head to the Panama City Amateur Radio Club Spring Tailgate. Several local hams showed up. There was good food, good conversation, and even a foxhunt.
