As a huge fan of the Demon Slayer franchise, I was excited to play Chapter 8 - Mugen Train in the new video game adaptation, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles. However, after playing through this chapter, I was left feeling disappointed and underwhelmed. First off, the graphics and gameplay in this chapter were subpar compared to the rest of the game. The animations were clunky and the character models lacked the detail and fluidity that I had come to expect from the game. This was especially noticeable during the boss battles, which felt repetitive and uninspired. Furthermore, the story in this chapter felt rushed and disjointed. I understand that the game is meant to be a condensed version of the anime, but even so, the events of the Mugen Train arc felt condensed to the point where it lost its emotional impact. The pacing was off and important plot points were glossed over, leaving me feeling detached from the characters and their struggles. In terms of gameplay, Chapter 8 - Mugen Train offered very little in terms of new mechanics or challenges. It felt like a rehash of previous chapters, with the addition of a few train-related obstacles. As someone who had already completed the main story mode, I was hoping for something more challenging and unique. Despite my disappointment with this chapter, I do have to give credit to the voice acting and soundtrack, which remained top-notch throughout. The game also stayed true to the source material, with accurate character designs and dialogue.
