So at the end of the day, gabapentinoids (Gabapentin and Pregabalin) work on GABA, however they also have other main areas of function. Pregabalin works on the calcium channel alpha2-delta subunit among other actions. Phenibut on the other hand is a GABA-B agonist, similar to Baclofen. If you're withdrawing from a GABA-B agonist, you can get prescribed a weaker GABA-B agonist or a GABA-A agonist to slowly taper off of, or help with your CT (Cold-turkey) withdrawal symptoms.
