Printing with ColorFabb HT filament!
Today I am showing you ColorFabb_HT filament! It's an interesting material for prints that need to be rugged and able to withstand up to 100C temperatures. I bought some a while ago and decided to see if I could dial it in and use it to print a part cooling fan duct that sits up close to the E3D v6 hotend!
I did all of my test prints using Simplify3D and my Ultimaker 2+.
I found I got my best results with a first layer at 255C and the rest at 251C. Part Cooling fan was set to 25%. Bed was set to 110C.
While the suggested retraction distance and speeds work well (4.5 mm and 40 mm/s, I found a distance of 5.1 mm was the sweet spot for my printer!)

REPAI

As I mentioned in my previous video, at the Down East Fantasy Con, R2-D2's head stop rotating. It made noise but wouldn't move! Today, I took the head assembly apart to see what failed. It turns out that during my second R2-D2 build, I bought a spare motor! Today, I am going through the steps to get the old motor and mount structure out, replace the motor, do the wiring and make sure R2-D2's dome can rotate again! I have a big event this weekend and my droid needs to be working! ENJOY!

Today I am showing you my review of Matterhackers Pro Series PLA. I bought a spool to test out and I wanted to see how well it printed! I do a lot of large prints than can take over a day, so quality material is very important!
As you will see in the video, I had really great success with it.
The 3D Printer I tested this on is a Creality CR-10S, upgraded to a Bondtech Direct Drive System (DDS) using a Wham Bam Systems PEI textured buildplate.
First Layer 207C
Second Layer 205C
Bed Temp 60C
Flow Rate 90% (Extrusion Multiplier 0.90)
