Wacom on Linux Tutorial 3. Wacom Express Keys (Linux Mint 17 edition)
Learn how to program your Wacom tablet's express keys (and touch ring if you have one) using the Graphics Tablet settings that comes with Linux Mint 17 ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxRLdUB1v10
Nvidia's Linux drivers can break your ability to configure your tablet in the Settings app. Here's how to get around the problem by using xsetwacom.
Commands used in the vid:
# Left Monitor only
xsetwacom set "Wacom Intuos Pro S Pen stylus" MapToOutput 1920x1189+0+0
xsetwacom set "Wacom Intuos Pro S Pen eraser" MapToOutput 1920x1189+0+0
#Left handed mode
xsetwacom set "Wacom Intuos Pro S Pen stylus" rotate HALF
xsetwacom set "Wacom Intuos Pro S Pen eraser" rotate HALF

A slight tweak to our palette knife and we can paint snow! This will finish our Mystic Mountain. If your tablet has tilt sensitivity, the next lesson is for you.

How to use xsetwacom to get a drawing tablet button to toggle between multiple monitors when the Tablet Settings app won't work for you.
Here's the script you'll need:
###############
#!/bin/sh
for ID in $(xsetwacom list | cut -f2 | cut -d' ' -f2); do xsetwacom set "$ID" maptooutput next; done

The bare minimum you should need to get started drawing, painting, sketching, and doodling with Krita!
This stuff should be useful for any Krita noob regardless of your setup, however I am using Krita 2.9.2 with a Wacom Intuos 5 tablet on Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon =D
Main problem #1: The most common problem folks have at the start is a problem getting the canvas to appear when using MS Windows; sometimes it's just a black screen, or you can't paint on it, or it crashes, or something similar. Usually Turning off OpenGL will solve this problem: Settings * Configure Krita * Display * untick OpenGL.
Main problem #2: Missing toolbars. To get all your toolbars back, choose the Workspaces button at the top right, then choose default.
Main topics:
- Mapping a tablet with dual monitors
- Left handed tablet users
- Changing colors, brushes, and brush size
- Erasing
- Zooming and panning

Meet Krita's transform tool and use a few simple filters to create a reflection of our island. Part 12, 13 & 14 cover between 16m55 and 21m30 of Bob's Mystic Mountain show, which I've cut out for you here: https://www.youtube.com/v/VlucWfTUo1A?start=1015&end=1290

In this tutorial series we’ll be making a 3D Top Down Shooter where your simple character will move around and shoot waves of spawning baddies.
This series is a port of Sebastian Lague’s original Unity3D tutorial series (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFt_AvWsXl0ctd4dgE1F8g3uec4zKNRV0). Several years ago I completed that series and I really wanted to try it in Godot. With Sebastian’s permission, (thank you!) I thought I’d share my attempt by porting his tutorials over the Godot.
I’m an educator, and although the way I do things might appear to the trained eye to be messy at first, my focus isn’t on premature optimization or organization or advanced techniques, but instead just having some fun and getting it to work.
But as the series progresses my plan is to slowly refactor the project with explanations along the way, into something we can be proud of and that an experienced Godot user, well… at least something they won’t barf at.
The pace is fairly casual and you can follow along, but you should have some basics understanding of Godot and GDScript already, and maybe have tried an intro 2D series. Check out these ones for example: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLaGRTLvEbVzzaNyF6CTkzupo9ZG1twIQg
My explanations in the series will focus on the 3D aspect of our game. Adding the Zed axis can really complicate things!
I do get a bit excited at times as I still find it a little thrilling when my code works and I can manipulate pixels on my screen the way I want to.
Feel free to comment on the videos if you have ideas or improvements you think we could make, or why something I did was extra silly, and I’ll try to include them in future videos.
I’ll be making the game in Godot 3.2. If you’re using a newer version of Godot and struggling to follow along, I’ll do my best to explain any changes that affect a video in a “Godot Version Update” section in that video’s description. And if you don’t find an answer there, please leave a comment about it!
The source code for the game will be available on GitHub and linked to in each of the video descriptions.
My goal is to post a new video for the series at least every Sunday, with a few extras thrown in when we can.
I hope you enjoy the series, and thanks again to Sebastian Lague who inspired it!

By the end of this video we’ll have a simple state machine that will allow our enemies to turn red and take a lunging attack at the player when they get too close, then take a little rest before they continue their hunt.
I apologize for the length of this video! In the future I’ll try to keep the episodes under 20 minutes if I can...
