Born Mugo Ng’ang’a, Waithaka took up the moniker Waithaka to distinguish himself as a producer. Born in Kenya but residing for many years in the Americas, he describes himself as an artist, composer, label owner, producer, song-writer and all things music business. This is all encapsulated in his label Waithaka Entertainment, which is responsible for fastidiously fashioning the distinct sound of artistes such as Ayrosh and Kwame Rigii.

Waithaka’s accolades are as impressive as they are diverse. He produced and executive produced Kwame’s Eps Cama Wendo, Malkia, Rugendo, in addition to co producing Kwame’s song staple Mwene Nyaga. He also replicated this impressive fete with Murasta, Ayrosh’s debut EP, in addition to producing Shuga Mami and Love, Respect, Repeat featuring Ythera. His long-term musical collaborators have been producers Festus and Giggz, the latter whose mixing and mastering wizardry is unrivalled and unparalleled. The collaboration with Giggz is what is also responsible for the magic that is Sasabasi, a Kenyan diaspora heartthrob residing in the States. Waithaka is currently working on his EP, in addition to an all-female album slated for release sometime in 2020.

Other notable achievements:
● Collaborating with Kaysha on remixes for his label Sushiraw since 2009, and also featuring on his 2012 album Raw Like Sushi
● Collaborated with Festus and Kevin Provoke on Wangechi’s EP Do Not Consume if Seal is Broken
● Produced Wickedest Whine for 2009’s 106 and Park’s BET All-star winner Chris DeShield
● Working with the late LEGACY Nusaiba, in addition to producing a song her dad EJ Jackson wrote for Julian Gbaba and Nusaiba back in 2006.
● Working with Jivu, Ythera, Chris Deshield, Sasabasi, Julian Gbaba in addition to Kwame Rigii and Ayrosh.
