Here is a quick look at one of my favorite handheld systems, the SNK Neo-Geo Pocket Color. This was SNK's "weird" entry into gaming, instead of releasing an affordable home system, they make a portable instead to go against the giant that was Nintendo. So as you would expect it failed, HOWEVER, there were many great games for this system from SNK and others.

The Brutally Honest Gamer Boy does his first review with me. Sonic Adventure for the Sega Dreamcast. This is in my opinion a very over rated game and has a major flaw for a Sonic game in that it controls like shit. Everything about this game is good, don't get me wrong, but the controls lose it for me, as well as the whole Sonic in the real world, it doesn't mix, he should be in his own universe and not with real people, it doesn't work.

The gaming boy and myself look at his Nintendo DS Lite and his small collection of games so far. The DS Lite is the system I recommend to parents that ask me what a good starter system is for kids. The Lite is smaller, cheaper, and backward compatible with Gameboy Advanced. The DSi and DSi XL are bulkier and are not backward compatible which I feel for younger kids is a disadvantage as kids don't need online store access or cameras. So the Lite is highly recommended for parents who want something kiddie for the kids to play with.
