Laying the foundation stone of five water works to deliver water from house to house Mirick 4 August 2022 With the aim of delivering water from house to house, foundation stone of water works was laid at Krishnanagar public building on Thursday. GTA Mirik Tharbu Duptin Samashti PHE Department Mirik area member-in-charge Miles Rai laid the foundation stone of the project with the chanting of Pandit. On this occasion, Dhurb Bamjan, member of Shiaek Gepaldhara group, Samir Rai, president of Bhagaprama Mirik Mahkuma, Amit Yakha Dewan, secretary of Shiaek Gepaldhara group, secretary Praveen Rai, Nari Shakti Mirik Mahkuma President Ganita Gurung, Mirik Tharbu Duptin Samashti President Kiran Subba Bhutia etc. were present. In four of the five water projects, water will be provided from the previously constructed tanks to homes by piping, which will be a completely new project. Speaking at the event, Executive Engineer of PHE Department, Mani Ratna Mangrati informed that five water projects have been laid under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He said that the water works will be started under the plan. He said that the water works will be done in four areas of Mirik Mahkuma and the department has set a target of delivering water to everyone's homes by March 2024. Speaking on this occasion, Samir Rai, president of Bhagaprama Mirik Mahkuma, said that the government has started this scheme with the aim of delivering water to every house, which will benefit everyone. He requested the members of the GT to work for the all-round development of the region, saying that more projects will be started without the GTA. Speaking on this occasion, Member of Parliament Miles Rai laid the foundation stone of five water schemes in Mirik Tharbu Duptin Community and Siaek Gaepaldhara Okity Community within a month of the formation of the GTA Board. Out of which four are retrofitting and one complete work. He said that since the main issue of GTA is the all-round development of the hills, now the roots of development in the hills will be broken. In addition to this, he said that we have got an efficient leader in the form of Anit Thapa. He has come before us to work. Our goal is to make Mirik better.
