All printers running and the Prusa XL is changing colors
Just an update from yesterday. I put new hot ends on the Bambu and the Rat Rig and they are printing again. It is very handy to have spare parts, in fact you can't have too many. Thanks for watching and any questions or comments ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BD1QxgSbCac
I was determined to get the Dancing Christmas Tree finished. I am finished, got it to dance, not the Waltz, but the best it can do. My good friend our USPS mailman brought a big box to my door. It was from Steve and Bonnie Bailey. We have become you-tube friends. I think this video shows them milling the walnut https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4ir4sCqtGo&ab_channel=MSDMakingSawDust
Take a look at their channel, they do some great work.
The 4 Creality Ender 5 printers will be going to the local high school where my grandkids attended. Here is a link to the new printers I'm getting

These are a new design and have made quite a splash in the 3D printing world. I'm very excited to see what they can do.
Have a very merry Christmas and see everyone in the new year (or before).

I'm leaving for ERRF tomorrow and am taking printed things to give away. I keep experimenting with clock faces, and am finding new ways to get logos and other specific images on them. I can program the printers to stop and allow me to change filament colors. Still working on some toys from Greg Zumwalt,

The Prusa XL 5 head printer is almost done. I ran into a problem with the first Nextruder. The hole that holds it in place is stripped, I can't tighten the bolt down to hold the mount in place. I have talked to Prusa help twice and they are still figuring out the best solution. In the meantime I am trying to get a few other things done. Silica Gel containers https://www.printables.com/model/65922-silica-gel-spool-container.
they work great to keep filament dry while in storage.

I have finally figured how to mount the APSU extruder and XG hot end using the EVA system on the Rat Rig. This is the first test print, and so far is working very well. I installed a .8 mm nozzle so that I get a wide filament bead. The next project will be to re-install Klipper from scratch to get all of the updates. Links:

It has been a long time since I posted a video. Hope everyone is having a good Father's Day!
Just some updates - nothing too exciting. Just making some solutions to a problem and Chief's stuff to give away.

I placed my original order for the Prusa XL on Nov 21, 2021.
Almost 2 years later it is really here, now to put it together.
My grandson and neighbor Andy helped me get everything down to the basement.
I purchased a new table to use for the printers. I now have three of these, one is my desk, the other is under the two Bambu printers. If you need a very sturdy desk take a look at these, I purchased it at my local Sam's Club https://www.samsclub.com/p/ultrahd-72-inch-adjustable-height-heavy-duty-wood-top-workbench/prod22651720?xid=plp_product_1
They hold up to 2000 lbs and have them in 4, 5 and 6 foot sizes.
Thanks for watching and following the journey of the XL.

I received the Bambu X1 Carbon on Wednesday. This is the best printer so far as ease in getting it printing. The instructions are still lacking, but it is intuitive to set up and you-tube has a lot of content to help. Thanks for watching.

I have been trying to get Klipper and Fluidd running for almost two weeks.
I'm finally happy with the results. I have one printer working well an now will convert all my printers. I am replacing the TH3D Ezboards with BTT SKR Mini E3 V2 main boards. Cost was one factor and I could not find that the Ezboard runs Klipper. The more I explore and understand Klipper the more impressed I am. It is so easy to make configuration changes, you can do it from the Fluidd interface, save the configuration file and restart ready to run.
Nero 3dp has a great channel https://www.youtube.com/c/Nero3dp/featured
Here are his videos that I recommend
Klipper 3d Printer Firmware - What is it? Why do I want it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNHta6zljoM&t=8s
Installing Klipper on the Creality Ender3 V2 (and other 32 bit creality printers) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfZ9Lbyh8qU&t=220s
INPUT SHAPER CRASH COURSE - Print FASTER and BETTER! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoWQUcFimX8
If you have a Raspberry Pi and some spare MicroSD cards you can try Klipper at no cost, just some time. It is very easy to revert back by switching the card in the Raspberry Pi back to Octoprint and re flashing your printer main board.
I purchased 3 - ADXL345 Accelerometers for $9 on Amazon https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08HLP1MPY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

After posting my last video a number of viewers asked how good the Raspberry Pi camera was. Here is a recording that I made of a printer with a camera over the Klipper interface from my computer room 2 floors above.
I can at least monitor what the printer is doing.
