A remake of Xevious was planned to be released in 2002 for PlayStation 2 by Project Aces (Namco Bandai design team), using the Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies engine, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Xevious. The project was shelved to shift time and resources to work on Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War. When the Project Aces got more than 5000 followers on Twitter, the company decided to share online a video with a Xevious prototype from the PlayStation 2 console.

Dave Mirra 2004 is an unreleased video game that was in development in 2004 by Deibus Studios (known for Freestyle Metal X and Motocross Mania) and it would have been published by AKA Acclaim, but due to Acclaim's bankruptcy issues, it was unfortunately canceled.
The game's description according to the video game designer Daniel Bobroff from Deibus Studio: the player would've set out as a grassroots BMX rider and the goal was to become the number 1 BMX rider in the world, bigger than Dave Mirra himself.
DM2004 centres the main career on the things it takes to become a Pro BMX rider as well as incorporating numerous fun challenges and scripted events to give the player a greater feeling of immersion within the game, as well as to add a little spice to the rigors of competing and performing for the public on a daily basis.
Previous titles had focused mainly on the player completing certain tasks and repetitive goals with the competition events being more of a sideshow than a main feature of the gameplay. However, it is the competition aspect of the sport in Freestyle BMX that has brought it to the attention of the mass public, with riders such as Dave Mirra pushing themselves to higher and higher levels each year in front of huge crowds at events like the gravity and X games pulling a wide array of insane big Air tricks that would gape anyone who sees them.
The aim of DM2004 is to immerse the player in the shoes of a professional rider. While challenge swill still is a part of the career structure, the career itself is focused on a single goal - becoming a top Pro Rider. The career mode will involve the player performing for sponsors to gain backing, which provides new parts and gear to help climb in the BMX world rankings.
The player will compete in Events such as Vert, Street, Dirt and Flatland that encompass all elements of BMX to make the most rounded rider the BMX world has ever seen.
By competing in competitions the player will be noticed by photographers who will invite the player to perform for Magazine and video shoots. Players will be able to watch all their video parts and view magazine covers from a personal gallery after completing each event. These aspects of the BMX world are all part of being a pro rider, not only does the player have to perform for their sponsors but they also have to perform for the public and please everyone who is involved with making them what they are.
All around fame will be rewarded when local BMX riders invite the player to come and ride their secret spots, stashed away within each world. Money and free gear will also show the player that they are rising in the world of freestyle BMX.
As the player progresses through the career mode they will earn ranking points. These ranking points are gained by competing in events as well as getting their face on the cover of magazines and into BMX movies, once the player has gained the number one crown they will be able to defend it by retrying all the competitions to prove they still have what it takes and can win time and again. Defending the crown, as champion, is more difficult as the challenges become harder to win.
