Tomorrow, Hello Games is releasing an update for No Man's Sky that is the bigger than any previous update. For fans of the game it is a big deal but it also may potentially be a catalyst for change in the gaming industry. When the game originally lauched it didn't meet expectations and it caused a lot of drama. Hello Games did't have to continue supporting the game and improving it above and beyond their original vision for what they thought No Man's Sky was going to be, but they did and they did it for free. Above it all, even though they communicated very little with the gaming community they did listen and what they were seeing from the community helped shape the direction they took the game. The version of NMS we have today is already "beyond" much of what we were promised back when the first trailer appeared on the Game Awards. This next update is so big, changes so much, it is quite literally a brand new game.
