February 3rd at 8:55pm EST, a 2 mile long freight train carrying hazardous materials derailed in East Palestine, Ohio. The governor chose to burn the vinyl chloride in a “controlled release.” A few days later, the trains were running again and people were encouraged to come home, being told it was safe.
