The childlike powerlessness and helplessness of children, their exposure to the arbitrariness of their parents, to their rejection and lack of love, leads to the fact that childlike trauma victims later become trauma perpetrators, who again put themselves and others in distress through their trauma survival strategies - and experience this as attempts at rescue and justify it to themselves.
