Ethereal Enigma - Part 16 Erilynn's Farewell (Final)
Time is up. We spend one last night with Erilynn where the group holds a going away party. Then in the morning, she leaves. She promises to return one day, but can it really be that easy? ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlUZmuOvb0k
Crimson has returned, and we are trying to teach him some of the nuances of the series as a whole. Pukei-Pukei is the unfortunate target for his lessons. Sadly, the learning opportunities here are not as good for the coming video, so just wait until you see the monster of a video coming tomorrow. Poor Crimson's game is broken now...

We head into the DLC area and tackle the first bit of storyline. Depending on which game you are playing, the rival will be either psychic or poison (neither are gyms in the main game). We are given some tasks by the instructor that ultimately leads to us facing off against Avery, unlocking the ability to Gigantamax any Pokemon we have that are capable of doing so, and then getting an extremely popular legendary that we will need to evolve to finish the storyline here. Sadly, we will be going into the tundra before doing so, but maybe we can return soon...

Should you decide to side with Adramelech against Futsunushi, this is what will happen. Overall, I think Adramelech is probably a better demon and has better stuff to pass on for fusions, but it is up to you. I lose out on some Strength Balms by going this way, but due to how the damage equations works, I probably won't notice any difference.

And with this, the Halloween project kicks off with something that is not outright terrifying in the sense of dread and jump scares, but this game conveys an environment of despair that is almost unparalleled as you are one of the few human survivors in a new world and are essentially alone. As the game progresses, the number dwindles, and the environment becomes increasingly hostile until you are one of the few beings left. Luckily, since this is the beginning, we aren't in too much danger just yet...
In this part, we basically tackle the game's intro and learn the battle system and some of the game systems. I imagine most people are more familiar with later Persona games, so I try to explain things in those terms while some of it doesn't quite carry over. It also may not help that as part of the main series, this is quite a bit more unforgiving than the Persona series became. However, if you are familiar with early Persona, then this is very similar to what you might expect.
As for the medical center, once we meet the cast and the world ends, we are tasked with escaping it. This leads to us recruiting some allies, and then confronting Forneus, the first boss, in order to make our daring escape. It is also worth noting that Forneus is the only boss in the game to have a weakness to exploit, so don't expect things to be as easy as they are here.
And in terms of upload schedule, I've recorded a lot of this in advance throughout September, so I'm going to aim for daily uploads with this. Then once we reach the end of the series, I may look for a few small scary things to conclude the month. If all goes according to plan, this will be the most active month in terms of uploads that I've ever had.
On our quest to be the very best, like no one ever was, we need to find out what is going on in the dojo, so we can challenge it!

There are different ways this fight can play out depending on how thoroughly you hunt the nodes. To make things optimal, I went ahead and popped all of them so I could do the sidequests while I was in the area. With all of them down, she loses access to some of her attacks and will lose turns when trying to use them. This makes the fight pretty simple and you can bag her and gain entrance to the castle. However, before we do that, there are quite a few other sidequests that need resolving...

I will speak during this for the different playlists, just to explain two things. The first is how and why to do the exorcism stuff. The second is that this holds the distinction of being the first exorcism I have lost due to RNG. As mentioned in the video, I have 4 fails that just wiped out my health bringing this to an end that I could not avoid. Luckily, you do not get kicked too far back, but it is still really annoying and breaks the flow of the game.

To be clear on this one, you must run from a total of 100 fights. They do not have to be in a row. I was hoping to show here that while grinding these, I was fighting the machine enemies that appear, so you could have seen Cube's HP increase from fight to fight if this were the SNES version. I did do fights between the final five you see here, but I did not save them.
Anyway, the Watanabe family warned us that we were being watched and after escaping (or teleporting) from too many battles, our pursuer will become clear. This is probably the most dangerous of the super bosses, but is by far the most difficult to encounter. As long as you use the other pieces of Cosmic Gear for petrify protection, you can avoid meeting the Watanabe family fate. Cube can heal the status away and is innately immune, so you just need to worry about the humans. If you refuse to use Cube, there is one more optional boss I will be posting tomorrow that can give you the fourth piece that you can use here.
The Death Prophet seems to have much higher defense than special defense, meaning special attackers are probably the way to go here. Oboro, Sundown, and Akira will be the three best you have to choose from, but the Master can be a hybrid character capable of holding their own. As you can see from the damage numbers Hong is absorbing here, the other two may have a little trouble surviving.
Anyway, once you clear this, there is most likely nothing left in the game to challenge you. We have one more optional boss left before we take on the final.

After serving as liberator in the previous fight, the resident royal has determined that ruling a single planet is not enough, sending us to Tydaria. Upon eliminating PACT, the Empire has been reborn...
The Lancers make another appearance here, and this is by far the most useless they've been. It would be cool if they could hit stationary targets from a distance, but they struggle with even that. To make things worse, PACT fields shield units, so their lasers are weakened if you shoot within those. I'd rather park the Lancers somewhere they will stay out of trouble while I use conventional tactics (and force) to bring the enemy down.
