Xingping is an ancient Chinese fishing village on the Li River - and home to Laozhai Mountain (aka Laozhai Shan or Laozhai Hill). Is this the best view in China? Xingping is usually a popular day trip from Yangshuo or Guilin, but I wanted to know if it's actually a better place to visit? The town's mountains and river views feature on the 20 Yuan Bank Note and you can visit the exact spot from the image just outside the ancient village. We visited in rainy season, so the mountain hike was not easy - and actually pretty dangerous.
