It takes some effort to wrap your head around Godot’s UI system, but once you did, it makes it easy to create all sorts of complex layouts. The system is flexible.
There are 5 base nodes that work with textures directly: image files that you import in the engine and apply manually to the nodes. They are easy to find if you search for “texture” in the add node window.
There are also containers that automatically arrange their children on the screen with a variety of behaviours. They produce vertically or horizontally aligned layouts, space UI elements evenly, etc.

Overview of Picasa, Google’s program to manage your pictures
This video is part of the Krita tutorial series (FREE): http://gdquest.com/game-art-quest/volume-1/krita-tutorial-for-game-artists/
----
Any professional artist needs a solid library of reference pictures to work with. Picasa is a good tool to manage them. It is a free photo management program for Windows and Mac that was developed by Google. Although it is not in development anymore, at the time I am making this video, it is my favorite free application to manage pictures on Windows. There are currently no satisfying open source alternatives I know of.
Picasa allows you to add metadata to your pictures, to search through your library, and to organize them effortlessly. It is a great companion for any digital artist, and one I recommend that you check out if you want to follow my Krita training.
