Do you like animals? - ¿Te gustan los animales?
Do you like his sister? - ¿Te gusta su hermana?
Do you like my new car?
Yes, I do. - Sí, me gusta/gustan.
No, I don´t. - No, no me gusta/gustan.
don´t = do not
Yes, I do like it. - por 'Sí, me gusta tu coche nuevo'.
No I don't like them. - por 'No, no me gustan los animales'.
No, I don´t like her. - por 'No, no me gusta su hermana'.
Observe que en las respuestas se han reemplazado los complementos (my new car, animals, his sister) por pronombres personales objeto (it, them, her), ya que queda claro sobre que se esta hablando.
Naturalmente, a las preguntas que comienzan con ´Do you like...?' se puede responder simplemente con ´Yes' (´Sí´) o `No' ('No'), aunque esto resulta brusco. Si algo gusta mucho se utiliza very much.
Preste atención al orden de las palabras en los ejemplos siguientes (very much se coloca a continuación de los pronombres objeto it, him y them):
-Do you like my new shirt? —¿Te gusta mi camisa nueva?
-Yes, I like it very much. —Sí, me gusta mucho.
- Do you like this comedian? —¿Te gusta este cómico?
-Yes, I like him very much. —Sí, me gusta mucho.
-Do you like these apples? —¿Te gustan estas manzanas?
-Yes, I like them very much. —Sí, me gustan mucho.
Si algo o alguien no gusta en absoluto se utiliza not at all (nada/en absoluto). Por ejemplo:
-Do you like ballet? —¿Te gusta el ballet?
-No, I don't like it at all. —No, no me gusta en absoluto.
-Do you like that woman? —¿Te gusta esa mujer?
-No, I don't like her at all. —No, no me gusta en absoluto.
o simplemente:
-No, not at all.

- Where´s the nearest bank? - ¿Dónde está el banco más cercano?
- There´s a bank in Station Road.
- Where´s the nearest bank? - ¿Dónde está el banco más próximo?
- There´s one in Time Square.
There´s a bank in Judd Street, there´s a bank in Hill Road and there´s a bank in Kings Square.
There´s a bank in Judd Street, there´s one in Hill Road and there´s one in Kings Square.
- Where´s the nearest one? - ¿Dónde está el más cercano?
- The nearest one is in Hill road.
o sencillamente:
- It´s in Hill Road.
- Where´s the nearest supermarket?
- There´s one in Hill Road and one in Time Square.
- Where´s the nearest one?
- The nearest one is in Time Square.
- Where´s Times Square?
- It´s over there. On the left.

What are you doing?- ¿Qué estás haciendo?
I'm reading a book.- Estoy leyendo un libro.
What's happening? - ¿Qué pasa? (Lit.: ¿Qué está pasando?)
There's a man running up the street.
I'm going to Rome tomorrow. - Me voy a Roma mañana.
Where are you going on Sunday?
Where are you going? - ¿Dónde vas?
I'm going out to lunch. - Voy a salir a almorzar. (litt.: estoy yendo)
Where is he going? - ¿Dónde va (él)?
He's going to work. - (Él) va al trabajo. (litt.: está yendo)
Para contestar de manera sencilla se puede utilizar go out con la idea general de 'salir´:
Where is she going? - ¿Dónde va (ella)?
She's going out. - (Ella) va a salir.
No confunda out con outside.
He is outside the house. - (Él) está fuera de la casa.
He is inside the house. - (Él) está dentro de la casa.
OUTSIDE - INSIDE
We're going outside. - Vamos fuera. (de algún lugar)
I'm going inside. - Voy dentro.
I'm going to the bank. - Voy al banco.
I'm going to work. - Voy al trabajo.
I'm going to have lunch. - Me voy a almorzar.
Este último se suele acortar a:
I'm going to lunch.

want/would like + `to infinitivo´
I feel awful. I want to see a doctor. - Me siento fatal. Quiero ver a un médico.
He'd like to go out tonight.
have/has + `to infinitivo´ = obligación/deber/necesidad
I have to go. I'm late. - Tengo que irme. Llego tarde.
She has to write a letter tomorrow. - (Ella) tiene que escribir una carta mañana.
We have to take him home every day.
do + have + `to infinitivo´
I don't have to work this Sunday. - No tengo que trabajar este domingo.
He doesn't have to get up early. - No tiene que levantarse temprano.
Does she have to go to the dentist? - ¿Tiene (ella) que ir dentista?
Why do they have to stay at home?
He can use my car, but he has to drive very carefully.
They can play in the house, but they have to be good.
The lights don't work. - Las luces no funcionan.
My camera doesn't work. - Mi cámara no funciona.
This toaster doesn't work. - Este tostador no funciona.
You have to read the instructions. - Tienes que leer las instrucciones.
Why doesn't this torch work? - ¿Porqué no funciona esta linterna?
You have to turn it on!
will + have + 'to infinitivo'
I can't speak Spanish very well, so you will have to speak very slowly.
He can't see
