Ubuntu 22.04 Things To Do
In this video I will be taking you through some of the steps of Things To Do in Ubuntu 22.04 after install, this process will be different from some of my previous things to do as I will be showing you how to download and start up a bash script which is menu driven from within a terminal, yes you need to use a terminal however this process is not complicated and once started it's simple to use. Selections include updating your system, installing ubuntu-restricted-extras (Codecs) media players, removing snap packages, removing snapd completely, installing Flatpak, Web Browser support, Gnome Software, Gnome Tweaks, Extension Manager, Minimize on Click and a few others. The bash script can also be opened with a text editor if you wish to do so and you can check out the commands that are being used if that's something you're interested in learning. I will also be demonstrating how to install Nvidia drivers. Hope you enjoy the video.

In this video I will be looking at and installing TinyCore, Downloaded at a tiny size of 19.9MB it's the smallest of all the Distros in this challenge. I have no experience with TinyCore and was also having difficulty with the mouse in Virtualbox, despite these concerns I managed to get TinyCore installed, I tried to install some apps as well, LibreOffice, Abiword, Gnumeric, Feh image viewer and gedit, Feh was the only image viewer that I could find within the apps search, I believe maybe it's possible to add extra repos however I didn't per sue the possibility. I had problems with Abiword as I shut the system down halfway through the install which may have caused some issues, gnumeric and feh would not open which I suspect a Virtualbox issue. I was curious as to whether there was wireless support which I discovered was available in the CorePlus which I decided to download at a size of 216MB, not sure it's possible to check wireless in Virtualbox, it's definitely there as an option during install. After install of CorePlus I followed a similar routine as TinyCore and everything seems to work the same on both. I don't think I would recommend TinyCore as a lightweight distro as it seems to be too close to the core of Linux requiring extended knowledge in getting it to a complete system in my opinion. Remember we are trying to download a complete desktop ISO under 900MB using mobile data, (Viewer Request) that's the goal. Hope you enjoy the video. In this video I will be installing Enso OS 0.3.1 Dancing Daisy in a Virtualbox, it's based on Ubuntu and it comes with the XFCE desktop environment using some Elementary features in (Gala) and some features from the Mate desktop as well, after the install I will have a quick look around the desktop, it uses an Application installer called AppHive which looks really nice and modern however it's seems to be very slow and laggy, although this video was in Virtualbox I did install to real hardware to confirm the slow behaviour of AppHive, is the App itself and not Virtualbox, I really like the modern spin Enso has built upon the XFCE desktop, hopefully they can sort out the slow functionality of the AppHive and get everything working well together which the desktop seems to achieve without too many issues. In this video I will demonstrate how to install applications with Gdebi in Debian 10 Buster, the graphical way as the main use, however I do show terminal alternatives regarding errors. First I install Gdebi then I show you some of the dependency issues that can arise when installing with Gdebi in Debian, search possible solutions, which were successful in my case, then it's a matter of setting Gdebi as default installer in the .deb file by right clicking "selecting properties" under the "open with tab" select gdebi, double click the application and you should have a successful install. In this video I will be installing Feren OS Next Beta 4.1, Feren Next is based on Ubuntu 18.04 and is using the KDE Plasma desktop environment, it has a few Feren customised applications to help create a better user experience. After installation I take a look around Feren OS Next including some theming Look and Feel Layouts, Nvidia driver installation and wallpapers. Feren Next is out of Experimental and is now in Beta, there are some bugs still existing and this is not meant to be used for a production environment.
