Winnipeg, May 12, 2019: One century on, the Winnipeg General Strike remains one of the most significant events in Canadian history. A new book, 1919: A Graphic History of the Winnipeg General Strike, marks the centenary of this epic struggle. 1919 was co-created by the Graphic History Collective, a group of activists, artists, writers, and researchers from across Canada, and David Lester, an artist, writer, illustrator, musician and author of the acclaimed graphic novel The Listener.
