Why? 'Cause your mic clip will be less likely to be broken when you get it out of the car. You'll also keep your car boot from unnecessary scratches.

This works well with the CAGED system scale patterns.
Modes in "Light to Dark" order:
IV - Lydian
I - Ionian (Major Scale)
V - Mixolydian
ii - Dorian
vi - Aeolian (Natural Minor Scale)
iii - Phrygian
vii - Locrian
I prefer to call the order of this sequence "Light to Dark" as it gets you more used to the 'mood' of each mode as .
Either play:
Quarter Notes - ONCE all the way up and down each shape
Eighth Notes - TWICE all the way up and down each shape
Sixteenth Notes - FOUR TIMES all the way up and down each shape
Or
Use this as an opportunity to practice improvising between the various sounding modes.

Having seen a friend’s recent drum transcription of I by Meshuggah, I was inspired to jam on the theme of numbers. Thinking 3s/4s/5s etc all over the same groove.

I was 17 when I recorded these pieces of music.
Studying A-level Music taught me a lot about classical music and I guess this is my sort-of take on a Baroque suite. Had I have not had the perfect names for each improvisation already, they would have probably been put into some sort of order and called Prelude, Allemande, Sarabande, Gigue, etc
A few years prior to this I played bass in local dance-band Langestt Dance Orchestra (LDO) and regularly played songs like Glenn Miller's 'In The Mood'. Hence the pun. Naturally.
Listening back to them thirteen years on and being a teacher of music myself now it's nice to hear that even through the mistakes of improvising, I think the general characteristic of each mode came out. I was obsessed by dark music at the time and I remember Phrygian and Locrian being a lot of fun to record.
It also reminds me of the times when I was obsessed with trying to make track lengths round up to the full minute. Wow. Just wow.

Quite easy really, this series was designed for people who would like a calming voice to soothe them to sleep, but instead of fields of swaying flowers or a story too twee, have some fucking 'ard metal lyrics. Sleep well... METALLLLLLLLLLLL \m/

So I found some footage I'd loaded in to Final Cut years ago that I never finished editing. Here's me talking about how I think an album gets made. Includes some live footage and discussions about my gear too.

For people wanting something a bit quieter and more space-saving I also play acoustic gigs in pubs/bars/restaurants around the London/Berks/Herts/Oxfordshire areas. If you would like me to play at your event or venue please get in touch.
As a depping musician, besides going out as a frontman with PA, I can be a lead guitarist, acoustic guitarist, bassist and percussionist. I spent a lot of time harmonising along with the Spice Girls as a kid so I really enjoy doing backing vocals too.

Here I am doing my best to work out what the Spanish W-Series racing driver Marta García is posting about. Spanish to English translations afoot. Un pie. Ha ha. Ja.
