In December 2019, Donald Trump announced the creation of the newest addition to the ever-expanding US Armed Forces, the United States Space Force. It’s the first new military service in more than 70 years since the Air Force was spun off from the Army in 1947. The Space Force will not be a military department in its own right (like the Army, or Navy), but instead will be an independent service administered by the Secretary of the Air Force. It is currently the only active independent space force in the world as at January 2020. Their first piece of military equipment that they have officially unveiled on Twitter is their uniform. It’s got a nice US Space Force name tape across the front, an American flag arm patch above the logo on the side, and of course, the standard woodland camouflage. At this point you might be asking, “Woodland camouflage? WTF?!”. Well, you’re not the only one asking. Social media has been ablaze with people mocking the uniform choice. To be fair, the colour of the newly-created Space Force’s uniform is probably the least of our concerns. The really question should be — Does the United States need a space force, especially knowing that around 12% of the American population are still in poverty? A couple of weekends ago, South Australians (well, some South Australians) voted in the historic First Nations Voice Election, and now a couple of weeks later, the results are flowing in. (It’s a very sparsely populated state). On their homepage, you can view the results, and in this presentation, I’ll show you some of the results and how dodginess ensued. There were a total of six electoral regions with only Region 1 – Central not yet counted (It’s the most populated region as it encompasses the capital city of Adelaide). I’ll analyse those results in a future video. As an example of dodginess, I’ll show you the results of Region 2 – Far North. Here’s a map of Australia, and that greyed region is the Far North region of South Australia. In terms of land mass, the entire UK could quite easily fit into that region. It’s a massive area. How many people do you think voted? Well, here are the results: 305 total votes, four of which were informal. For this massive region, admittedly sparsely populated, only 300 or so people voted. How can this be? Well, first of all, only those who identified as First Nations people were allowed to vote, a very questionable practice in my opinion. And secondly, voting in this election was not compulsory, which is at odds with every other state and federal election where voting is mandatory. Also, not to mention that in this entire massive region, there were only two polling booths. Imagine voting in the UK general election with only two voting booths, say one in Birmingham, and one in Edinburgh. It would be preposterous! Obviously, I’m having a bit of fun here. To be fair to the Electoral Commission of South Australia, they did have a number of mobile polling booths, but I still feel that only 300 people voting was an incredibly low number. And now the results, the dodgiest of all! I’ll put these into a spreadsheet, so it’s easier to do some calculations. Noting that there were seven positions to elect. So Mark Campbell with 70 votes got elected, of course, with the highest number of votes. Melissa Thompson was next with 52. Johnathon Lyons was third with 49 votes. Christopher Dodd was elected with 26 votes. Dharma Ducasse-Singer was also elected with 26 votes. So far so good. But hang on, what’s going on here? Dean Robin Walker was not elected, even though he got the next highest number of votes with 24. It looks like he got less votes due to preferences at 29 compared to Donald Fraser’s 35, despite Donald only getting 18 first preference votes. But the real oddity is Jonathon Fatt-Clifton who had the next highest votes at 14, but after preferences, he only got zero votes. All his votes were taken away from him, and instead, Dawn Brown was elected with less votes at 11. Why do you think this is? Why was Jonathon bumped and replaced with Dawn? Well it becomes abundantly clear when you look at the election summary on the official website. “Number of positions to elect: 3 males, 3 females, and 1 any gender. Sorry Jonathon, you may have fit the prescribed ethnicity, but you are of the wrong gender! We can’t have five males representing the Far North. That would be unfair! Those 14 people who voted for Jonathon in the 400,000 square kilometre area that is the Far North, they’ve been robbed of their vote! This is unconscionable, is it not? According to the website: “After the distribution of preferences, the following male candidates were elected. The following female candidates were elected, and, the candidate of any gender elected was: Donald Fraser”. And just one more example, Region 6 – Yorke and Mid-North, which is the region north of Adelaide shown in grey. There were only 129 total formal votes in this region. So we can see that Raymond, Doug, Quentin, Joy, and Eddie were all elected somewhat fairly, noting that four of them are males, Joy being the only female. Sorry Rex, this has already turned into a sausage fest, so even though you got more votes than Kaylene, even after preferences, you don’t fit the prescribed gender. Your votes don’t count, and all those people who voted for you are completely disenfranchised. Same with you Ken, your big manly beard is not welcome here! Denise claims victory. Sorry, it looks like Denise actually beat Ken on preferences, so perhaps that was a fair one. I haven’t analysed the rest of the regions, but I presume they’re equally dodgy. But is this not the natural consequence of identity politics? It’s no longer about who gets the most votes, it’s about who fits the prescribed ethnicity and gender. How far can this go until Australians say enough is enough? Anyway, I can’t wait to analyse the results for the Adelaide, Central Region, which has a huge number of candidates all vying for top dog. There are lots of different types of people in the world, but in this video, I’ll be classifying people into three types, just based on what I’ve experienced throughout my life. The first type are controllers. Probably about 10-15% of the world’s population fit into this category. They’re people who like telling others what to do. They like controlling people, dominating people. They include world leaders, CEOs, politicians, military and police officers, school principals, managers, dictators, religious leaders, and anybody else who is in control of other people. Of course, not all the people in these professions are necessarily controllers, I’m sure there are some very nice managers or police officers who are just in it to help society in some way. But I’d suggest that the vast majority of these people deep down want to control others. Whether that be because they just enjoy the power, or perhaps they believe that the only way to keep society functioning is to control the masses. Either way, they result is the same. They give orders, and you take ‘em! The next category is followers. About 80-85% of the population are followers. Statistically speaking, you’re probably a follower. If not, that’s great! (Perhaps you’re in the next category). Being a follower isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Most followers are just ordinary people living ordinary lives. They’re the workers, the servants, the soldiers, the pupils, the tenants, the peasants, the minions, the lackeys, the bootlickers, the flunkeys, the hangers-on. No, I’m not saying that factory workers are flunkeys, or anything like that. I’m just giving you some example people who fit into the follower category. Of course, not all followers want to be followers. Many of them actually do privately disagree with the powers that be, but they just put up with it, because it makes their life easier. I get it. Why fight against your leaders when that might end up with you being persecuted? Sometimes it’s just easier to obey. I used to be like that when I was a kid and a young man. I just put up with stuff, even though I wholeheartedly disagreed with it. I thought, why would I trouble my life by going against my superiors? A small proportion of these followers are what I would call “extreme followers” in that they actively enjoy obeying orders and get angry at those who don’t. We saw a lot of this over the last few years. But either way, followers live by the same creed. Do what you’re told, or else! And the last group, who I proudly call myself a member, the rebels. I actually have Scottish blood and am a direct descendent of William Wallace, so says my family tree, but I’ve also heard that William Wallace never fathered any children, so go figure. Rebels are the smallest of the groups, with only 5-10% of the population fitting in this category. Perhaps people who watch this channel are more likely to be rebellious than not, I’ll run a poll to see. Famous rebels, real of imagined, include Robin Hood, William Wallace, Martin Luther, Galileo, Emily Davison, Mahatma Gandhi, Rosa Parks, and perhaps Ned Kelly (although many people didn’t see him as a hero, but rather a vicious thug). Either way, rebels have changed the world, usually for the better. Without rebels, nothing would ever change. The controllers would continue telling the followers what to do, and the followers would just obey. The controllers love the status quo, because they’re in power. And the followers do nothing about it. That said, a world full of rebels wouldn’t be very good either. Everyone would be continuously going against one another all the time. A world without followers wouldn’t work. Nothing would ever get done! If there were no controllers, perhaps a similar situation would occur. There’d be nobody telling anybody what to do, and perhaps nothing would get done. I suppose, the point is, everybody is needed in their own sort of way. The problem is, managing it all. None of this is to say that people don’t float between roles. I often go along with the crowd, especially if it’s unimportant. For example, in our friendship group, there’s a lady who always tells us which park she wants to go to. I don’t really care which park we go to, so it’s just not worth fighting her. That said, I’m a rebel at heart, and I will always stand up against those who are trying to force me, or somebody else, to do something against their will. That reminds me, I haven’t given a motto to the rebels. Perhaps, a quote from the Star Wars Rebel Alliance is fitting. “To make forever free all beings in the galaxy!” So which one are you, a controller, a follower, or a rebel? I don’t care about party politics, but the Australian Labor Party are ruining the economy, or at least, that’s what the headline says. Labor are the ones that claim they are here to help the common man, but in reality, they’re doing the opposite. They’re committing hundreds of billions of dollars towards do-nothing submarines. They’re blindly following a low-emission agenda at the expense of people’s livelihoods and skyrocketing power prices. They seem to have no answers for out-of-control inflation, hurting millions of low-income Australians daily. And to top it all off, they’ve opened the floodgates to immigration putting upwards pressure on an already over-priced housing market and ever-increasing rents. There needs to be major structural reforms to increase the supply of new housing, but unfortunately, Labor don’t seem to want to fix it. You don’t have to agree with me, but that’s what’s happening.
