gimp-overview
GIMP is a raster image editing program that is suited for beginners (with a little patience) or advanced image manipulators. It is a free and open source program that has some plugins available. This is just a very brief overview of the basics of navigating Linux programs. You can find a lot of help documents on their website and a lot of people run video tutorials about how to use the program.
