Learn how to uninstall apps on your iPhone with iOS 11 and above if it's not working for you. We'll show you how to fix a common issue caused by 3D touch on newer iOS devices that can prevent you from being able to uninstall apps.
An issue that many people are experiencing with 3D touch interfering with their ability to delete apps looks something like this: instead of the delete option appearing, a 3D touch menu opens instead. The reason for this is that devices with 3D touch can sense how hard you press on your screen. If you apply too much pressure on your screen with your finger, the 3D touch menu will appear instead of the X icons. To remedy this issue, simply tap the screen with less pressure, or you can disable 3D touch.
To disable 3D Touch, open your device’s settings. Select General. Tap Accessibility. Then, scroll down and tap 3D Touch. To disable the feature, tap the switch in the top right corner.
Now you can go back to your home screen, and tap and hold on an app to reveal the Xs on each app. In the top left corner of an app you want to uninstall, tap the X. To confirm, tap Delete in the small window that appears. Then hit your device’s home button to stop the apps from shaking on your screen. That’s all it takes to delete apps on iPhone and other iOS devices, and how to get around the interference from 3D touch.
