Sometimes i feel like some of the best footage is lost when i upload longer videos, i thought these clips were good enough to take another look at in a short video of an awesome Alligator Gar over 7 foot. If you follow my channel you know i like to show the release each and everytime, and not just say i release them but show it and let people see the methods i have pioneered are viable for catch and release for these awesome fish. The Hook up was one of the most intense i have had for alligator gar, that shimano is pretty heavy with its 130 pound suffix performance braid and i had my drag close to maxed out (33 pounds of drag)

Fishing 60 miles offshore at the falcon rig, we found some huge snapper, tons of blackfin tuna and had a few shots at ling and amberjack. i broke a 100 pound braid on a big grouper and bent out a hook on a 7 once flutter jig on a big amberjack with 100 pound braid. i cant wait for the next time i get to get out in that deep of water again, there are some big fish out there..i have an invite to bring the kayak next time as well..not gonna lie that makes me nervous but maybe..

One of my very favorite things to do is explore new water, in this videos we are doing just that, im fishing a river i have never even gone close to before for gar and anything that will bite. Not even a a few miles into my first boat run of the day i run by half a dozen alligators.
I tried to show everything in this video i know its a little longer and i had to split it into two part but i have always enjoyed telling the entire story.
