Medu Vada is also known as Urad Vada and is hot favorite of most South Indians. Ingredients: 1 Cup Soaked Urad dhal 3 tblsp of finely chopped coconut pieces 1.5 tsp of whole black pepper 1.5 tsp of salt 2 cm stick of ginger 2 green chilies a pinch of asafoetida oil for frying a few curry leaves and coriander leaves Oil for frying Method Soak the dhal for about 3 to 4 hours or until well soaked. Grind the soaked dhal with a little water using the Ultra Fastgrind wetgrinder. Use Rice/dhal program. After it is ground to a thick paste mix in all the seasonings and make doughnut shapes and fry in a hot oil. Fry until they are golden brown and serve with chutney or enjoy even without.
