COP25 - Madrid. Global Carbon Tax Law Has Serious Consequences for Canada and Democracy
COP25 - Madrid. After rioting and civil unrest in Chile, the intended location of COP-25, Madrid, Spain agreed to take on the challenge of hosting some 20,000 climate change bureaucrats for the 25th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). #GretaThunberg is taking a yacht there, crossing the Atlantic in stormy wintertime. The climate confab takes place December 2-13, 2019. The 'climateers' plan to implement the Paris Agreement "rule book" and there's a push for a global carbon tax law. We take a look at what Canadians are already paying in carbon tax equivalents on federal and provincial fuel taxes - and what the rest of the world pays in carbon taxes. What would a carbon tax law mean for Canada and other democracies. Please read our rebuttal to the UN Climate Panel's recent IPCC SR15 report. https://blog.friendsofscience.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Faulty-Premises-Poor-Public-Policy-on-Climate-Oct-30-2018-FINAL.pdf ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhyY9pX8Lfw
More and more people are realizing that the carbon tax is not based on science or valid economics. Many people have heard 'the science is settled' - but it's not. As energy costs rise, people realize commercial interests are benefitting by claiming a 'climate emergency.' Really? Since when? It's your right to speak up and ask more questions. Demand open, civil debate and full cost-benefit analysis on climate and energy policies. For 'plain language' information on climate science and more, visit: http://www.climatechange101.ca/

Over 70,000 climate activists, government leaders and influencers are at COP28 - the big UN Climate Conference - set in fabulous Dubai, a miracle city that rises from the desert. One of the main objectives for activists is to phase out fossil-fuels to allegedly stop global warming. Imagine their shock when the president of this year's COP Conference, Sultan Ahmed al-Jaber, said that there is 'no science' behind demands for the phase-out of fossil fuels! Of course this rather spoiled the party for the activist set; some had been dreaming of crushing Big Oil and Big Natural Gas; other had been planning to put a wealth or giant carbon dioxide pollution tax on Big Oil and Big Natural Gas; others had been dreaming of how to force Big Oil and Big Natural Gas to finance the triple the renewables demanded by activists; other want to impose a global carbon tax LAW. No matter how you look at it, they are all using the fantasy claims of a climate catastrophe to try and pick the pockets of energy corporations, and to make ordinary people poor by driving up the cost of everything through these draconian energy taxes. This video explainer walks through some of what the reactions were and also gives people a glimpse of the energy and materials that went into the building of the Burj Khalifa tower in Dubai, surely the most prominent reference to the miracles that hydrocarbons help humans create. But the climate cult is not amused by Sultan al-Jaber's comments and are just digging in their heels. Please support our work. Subscribe, like and share our videos. Joins us! Andrew Lawton, journalist with True North independent media, discusses how Freedom of Speech is the cornerstone of democracy, and something that should unite right and left wing thinkers, but at present, the left-thinking group have the societal majority and they prefer to silence critics. Parker Gallant has been tracking the tightly woven web of climate 'charities' for years. His most recent commentary focuses on the fact that the Canadian Climate Institute has morphed into a 'charity.' Michelle Stirling, Communications Manager for Friends of Science Society got permission to read his article on camera. It is astounding to realize that this government funded operation, which was originally established with $20 million of your tax dollars, has now morphed into a 'charity' that is still raking in federal grant dollars AND is working with other groups like the Net Zero Advisory Board (NZAB) to strip you of your wealth with uncosted proposals that 'might' cost $43 billion/year! (and would not reach net zero nor would it stop climate change). In the consultation process, these parties somehow 'forgot' to consult with the people and businesses that actually make things, deliver them, grow food, or provide sales and service to the taxpaying public. One of the 'charities' - Transition Accelerator - has never received a donation for which it had to write a tax receipt - but it did manage to get about $1.8 million from federal grants. The whole idea of a 'charity' is that interested members of the public would set up and run a local operations, like a food bank or bird farm, and that there would be a net benefit to that community. The donors to such local charitable projects would get tax deductable receipts because the government would NOT be required to underwrite such operations, and the theory was that local people know best what a community wants or needs. The plethora of 'environmental' and 'climate' charities has turned this notion on its head, sucking in billions of dollars from all levels of government every year, and providing astounding salaries to the top administrators. See what Parker had to say. Just a reminder, Friends of Science Society is a non-profit society that operates on about $150K/yr - no tax deductible receipts, volunteer-run operation - and we are up against these multi-billion dollar 'green' entities, many of which are also foreign-funded. Something is terribly wrong with this picture, Canada. When Premier Jason Kenney was elected, one of the first things he did was to cancel the Alberta government's 30% renewable program of the Notley NDP government. However, a recent article in the Narwhal shows that wind and solar developers continue to capitalize on other forms of subsidies at the federal level. Alberta is a breadbasket to the world - but our rich agriculture land is at risk by predatory developers from countries like Germany and Russia cashing in on subsidies, various tax credits through intricate corporate structures, and offering farmers multi-million dollar decades long contracts to put wind and solar farms on their land. We don't know if there is any restriction on land quality for such deal. The federal government foresees putting 10 times the amount of wind/solar into Alberta as part of their Net Zero plans. And on Dec. 15, 2022, the day this video was recorded, Bill C-235 received Royal Assent - "Building a Green Prairie Economy Act" - imposing so-called green ideology on the Western provinces. All these factors will have devastating effects on Alberta's economy as wind and solar drive up power prices three to nine times; and if arable land is not protected, we may lose the richest 'gold' we have - our arable land. There's no conspiracy here; these things are happening in plain sight, but the dots are not being connected and the mainstream media is not bringing these issues to the attention of Albertans. Tree planting is a popular urban program with residents, but do people realize how much it costs them? Trees are not natural survivors in urban environments, and sometimes Mother Nature is even more punishing than usual. This past year's El Nino winter across the prairies will no doubt wreak havoc with the urban forest in the spring. There was a winter freeze up in the fall, as usual; then the warm El Nino winter rolled in. Tree roots were frozen while tree branches were exposed to warm, spring-like conditions. Then suddenly in January, minus 50 degree Celsius winter hit. It's likely many trees will die and will need to be replaced this spring. If you are concerned about rising municipal taxes, have a look at your city's tree-planting budget. Maybe it would be cheaper if people planted their own trees, on their own lots. Dr. Patrick Moore, co-founder of Greenpeace, discusses his opinion that Greenpeace turned from a environmental group into a racket about the time he was leaving the organization because they wanted to ban chlorine worldwide. He feels the environmental movement went from being humanitarian and concerned about wellbeing, to the opposite – with humans characterized as ‘enemies of the earth.’ He discusses the Green Trade War against Canada, known as the Tar Sands Campaign.

Is there a climate crisis? Is there a 97% 'consensus' on this? We look at the science and offer six points for your consideration and discussion:
1) Climate cycles between warm and cold
2) Warming benefits northern countries
3) CO2 enhances plant growth and crops
4) Sea levels change due to many factors
5) Warm climatic periods have more stable weather
6) Warming has economic benefits; "Climate Action" would cost more than doing nothing
