Fast Food Workers Loosing Jobs Because Of Wage Hike Fast food workers in California are finding out they no longer have a job ahead of the new minimum wage law taking effect on April 1. The wage hike was negotiated by union representatives but pizza restaurants are among the first to start laying workers off ahead of the new law taking effect. This is just the beginning as, according to the law, any restaurant that serves drinks or sweets could be considered a “fast food restaurant”. The obvious results of this law are product and service price increases, employee layoffs and reduced hours just to start.
