My previous shooting backpack was disintegrating and I had to get a replacement. Problem is, there were so many options to choose from.
Watched some videos online about the Safariland Shooter's Range Backpack and decided i'll try it as it looked like it would satisfy all my needs. Finally got to take it to the range last Sunday and had a positive experience so here's a quick video that captures my early thoughts after using it for a day.
Here's a one stage video I put together to test out how a simulated Heads-Up-Display could work. This was requested by some folks at the WaGuns.org forum. I wanted to see how hard it is and how much time. It took almost an hour to get this up but I think it'll be faster if I had the map already drawn and everything in place. That said, still fun to watch. There are still a lot of errors but you know that this is a "test" right? :)

Here are stages 7 - 12 from the recent 2017 Area One Championships in Hurricane, UT at the beautiful Southern Utah Practical Shooting Association's range. We shot this on the last day (3) and these were my best stages of the match. I saw my sights, watch them lift and called everyone. Stage 9 was my best stage of the match that landed me in 2nd overall for that stage.

Here's fun comparison video between Jordan who is currently a master class sandbagger :) versus myself. Jordan had a rough start but came back towards the back half of the day running fast and strong. Kudos for the 3rd place finish.

Glad the PB crew decided to put on a few hosing style stages for the match today. It was a breath of fresh air.
Hosing stages can be quite challenging to master, it requires you to execute your plan perfectly. Since everyone is able to go super fast, any slight hiccup on your part, could affect your final score dramatically.
I think we had 3 stages today that were 13+ hitfactor. so much fun! :)

At every major match I attend, the ROs will call me "Lo-kee" so for this year's Trigger Treat, I decide to shoot as... Loki from the Marvel Universe. Halloween hosefests are super fun especially when it's held after the Nationals and you can release some steam and just blast away.

A quick look at a recent acquisition, the venerable S&W Model 29 .44 Magnum. I've always wanted to own one and finally got a special deal with someone locally. It shoots well, although the sights were off for the magnum loads. Has to sight it in on the fly.
The 29-2 model features the Pinned barrel and Recessed Cylinders which is the hallmark of the older, higher quality Model 29s which are more sought after by collectors.

The Marysville range is well known as the most progressive USPSA club here in the NW because they are pioneering the use of full electronic scoring using the Practiscore application for the iPhone and Android platforms. The device we were using today was the Kindle Fire HD. It's simple to use/score, you get to see up-to-date rankings and it saves the stats-people many hours doing menial data entry.
Was a fun albeit a little short match, only five stages. It was cold, really wet and muddy, typically for matches in our section. I came in 2nd overall behind NickH our local GM.

I've been a fan of the MBX Magazine ever since I got one a year ago. I've used it as my starting mag for every stage/every match for an entire year and it has never failed me.
A few months ago I got wind that MBX is coming out with a 155mm magazine which is interesting because it's designed to be a mid-way solution between the 140mm and 170mm mags.
I met "Tiger" Nguyen at the recent Area 1 match and he was gracious enough to send me his personal 155mm magazine to play around with. I decided to get in front of the camera and talk about my experience using it and why I think this magazine will replace the 140mm magazine.
Enjoy!
