The Holy Trinity in the Old Testament - Reuben, Simeon and Levi
Video showing interesting possible connections between the first three sons of Jacob/Israel (Reuben, Simeon and Levi) and the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Reuben's name is derived from the Hebrew for "to look" (the Father is the "invisible God"), while Simeon is derived from the Hebrew for "to hear" (the Son is "the Word of God") and Levi is derived from the Hebrew for "to join" or "to be attached" (the Holy Spirit was "attached and joined" to the Son at the Son's Baptism by John in the Jordan). Reuben sinned against his father by having sex with his concubine (to prevent a marriage). Simeon and Levi sinned against their father by not following his wishes and working together to commit deceit and murder against a man who had sinned against their sister Dinah, but had repented of that sin, desired to become circumcised (the "baptism" of the Old Covenant) and hoped to marry their sister.
