Recently Amsterdam City launched a digital video ad campaign targeting 18-35 years old men living in the U.K. and searching for cheap hotels in Amsterdam. The message of the digital ad is : if you re looking for a trouble here, then stay away! It seems Amsterdam’s message reached to the wrong target audience. Kingsday is one special day is that everyone in the Netherlands can act like a “Young Biritish stag party man” without feeling guilty and being criticized. It doesn’t matter how much you look like a British Stag Party Member, at the end of the day, you will be a just a happy drunk person celebrating your King’s birthday.. Dutch people celebrate their King's birthday with orange colors, from head to toe. You'll see people in orange hats, orange shirts, orange pants, orange shoes, you name it. It s also the best day to enjoy Amsterdam Canals as long as your rental boat has a toilet. It's like a giant street party where people set up their own music systems and bars. A larger area was, from 1981 until 2010, a stadsdeel (borough) of Amsterdam and in 2010 was merged into the new borough of Amsterdam Nieuw-West.(Wikipedia) Osdorp, which was mainly built in the 1950s and 1960s, is one of the Western Garden Towns. The Osdorpplein shopping centre was opened in 1964, with a square and the Meervaart theatre. The area is now home to many popular retailers – as well as a market arcade and an outdoor market on Tuesdays. Since the end of the 1990s, part of Osdorp has been re-developed through a process of demolition and new construction. Much of the old housing was replaced with several already iconic buildings by acclaimed modern architects. This has led to a greater variety of dwellings and other improvements in the area. Development is particularly noticeable in and around Osdorpplein (Nieuw-West Centre). Osdorp also includes a more rural area outside the urban zone: Lutkemeer/Ookmeer.
