It is part of Real Rendashia's Land of Overlapping Destinies storyline. The party carried out Quest 226: "In a Faerie Tale Village" and met Airi, granddaughter of the late author of the Zankrone tales. Curiously, the Zankrone tales seem an accurate account of the events in Fake Melsandy. Now, the party will continue the story quest line in Real Melsandy with Quests 227 and 228. Real Melsandy Village (time 0:30): The party resumes in the church in Real Melsandy Village. At D-4/E-4, Berka has story info. The party enters the Faerie Tale Writer's House at D-2. On the ground floor, they talk to Lude. Lude issues Quest 227: "Rabbit Chase", the second quest in the "Story of a Hero and a Girl" quest line. It seems Airi has run off after a giant rabbit - or giant rabbits; number is not always clear in Japanese. Naturally, Lude wants the party to find the girl. The first objective is to gather information in town. At G-5 near the bank, the party talks to Letty, the purple-haired girl. It seems Airi was pursuing the giant rabbit(s) to the Real Sun-Dappled Clearing. There is a cave called the Rabbani Hole there, which is cause for concern. So, the Rabbani Hole in the Real Sun-Dappled Clearing is the party's next destination. The party prepares Fura and Raguas with wands for an upcoming boss battle. Then, they Zoom to the Real Sun-Dappled Clearing destination in the Real Melsandy Granaries. Real Melsandy Granaries (time 9:59): The party enters the Real Sun-Dappled Clearing (真のこもれびの広場) at B-4/C-4. Real Sun-Dappled Clearing (time 10:19): The party starts at E-3 in the north. Unlike in Fake Rendashia, the well here cannot be entered. In the south, the party enters the Rabbani Hole (ラバニの穴) at D-8. Rabbani Hole (time 11:39): The party starts at D-1 in the north. Spooky. Looks like a good place for Halloween. The quest destination is about halfway through the cave. However, the party finds a Gate of Trials blocking the door at E-2. They prepare for battle and enter the gate. The party enters battle against the Bunicorn Queen (ブラバニクイーン) and a mix of vile vegetables: an Awebergine (メランザーナ), a Woebergine (ナスビナーラ), a Haunted Tomato (おばけトマト), and an Ornery Onion (オニオーン). The Bunicorn Queen acts twice per round. She can deal a lot of damage to the entire party with Kazap and Gold Rush. She can also boost her tension. Her BBQ Stinger ability deals double physical damage to a target. However, the vile vegetables can inflict a few status ailments. The eggplants can make party members dance. The onions can inflict dazzle and can also lower party members' attack power and magic attack. Since the enemies enjoy using status ailments, using "Snap, Crackle, Poof" is good preparation. The vile vegetables should be carved up for a salad first before the party makes the Bunicorn Queen their main course. The Ornery Onion on the right end will fall very quickly. Keep the party healed in case of Kazap or Gold Rush. At the end of the battle, the Bunicorn Queen and company provide a base of ca. 10,000 experience points and 2,200 gold. After returning to the Rabbani Hole, the party continues through the door at E-2. At E-3, a red chest in a dead end contains 1,200 gold. At F-4/G-4 in the east, a red chest contains 3 Strong Antidotes (上どくけしそう). The nearby door leading north is locked. In a dead end at D-3/E-3, a red chest contains 5 Wakerobins (めざめの花). As the party turns south at D-4, a scene takes place. They have found not only Airi but also Butty and Jammy, the mischievous rabbits they met at the Fake Melun Watermill. What could they be doing here in Real Rendashia? The next objective is to follow Airi out of the cave. The party cannot go deeper into the cave right now. A long sequence of cutscenes followed. Now, Heorot will carry out the last two Seekers of Adoulin story missions, starting with Mission 5-5: "Undying Light". Heorot resumes in his Mog House in Bastok. He is currently a Red Mage/White Mage. In his Delivery Box, he receives gil for three Plutons and three chunks of Beitetsu that sold at auction. Many thanks to the buyers! Heorot exits to Port Bastok. Port Bastok (time 2:05): Heorot teleports to Western Adoulin. Western Adoulin (time 2:37): Heorot takes the western exit at D-9 to Ceizak Battlegrounds, East Ulbuka Territory. Ceizak Battlegrounds (time 3:31): Heorot turns around and reenters Western Adoulin at K-7. Western Adoulin (time 3:56): As Heorot enters Western Adoulin from Ceizak Battlegrounds, a scene with Arciela takes place for Seekers of Adoulin Mission 5-5: "Undying Light". Heorot and Arciela run into Tiana and some other local kiddos. Cute. The next objective is to go to the palace. Heorot uses the Waypoint at E-8 to teleport to the Coronal Esplanade in Eastern Adoulin. Eastern Adoulin (time 8:10): Heorot arrives at I-9. At the gate to the palace, Heorot talks to Ploh Trishbahk at K-9. A brief scene takes place. Adoulin Castle (time 9:46): A longer cutscene sequence takes place within Adoulin Castle. This concludes Seekers of Adoulin Mission 5-5: "Undying Light". Eastern Adoulin (time 38:37): Heorot regains control at K-9. Seekers of Adoulin Mission 5-5-1: "The Light Within" begins. The next objective is to exit to Ceizak Battlegrounds from Western Adoulin. It is necessary to wait until the next game day after the previous mission. Heorot uses the Waypoint at K-10 to teleport to the Pioneers' Coalition in Western Adoulin. Western Adoulin (time 39:12): Heorot arrives at E-8. He takes the western exit at D-9 to Ceizak Battlegrounds, East Ulbuka Territory. Ceizak Battlegrounds (time 39:50): When Heorot enters Ceizak Battlegrounds from Western Adoulin, a long cutscene sequence takes place. He returns the Pristine Hair Ribbon to Arciela, but he obtains the Arciela's Skirt permanent key item instead. Leafallia (time 51:54): The cutscene sequence automatically continues in Leafallia. This is followed by a final title sequence of sorts. A song plays. Hopefully, YouTube will allow it to play. If not, I will substitute another track. Ceizak Battlegrounds (time 57:59): After the lengthy sequence, Heorot gains control at K-7 in Ceizak Battlegrounds. The next objective is to return to Ploh Trishbahk in Eastern Adoulin. At K-7, Heorot reenters Western Adoulin. Western Adoulin (time 58:51): Heorot uses the Waypoint at E-8 to teleport to the Coronal Esplanade in Eastern Adoulin. Eastern Adoulin (time 59:20): Heorot arrives at I-9. At the gate to the palace, Heorot talks to Ploh Trishbahk at K-9. This triggers a scene with Ploh and Fremilla. Fremilla gives Heorot a wide selection of Seekers of Adoulin rings, but he can only select one as a reward. Heorot chooses the Adoulin Ring, which looks like a good ring overall. The player can exchange rings by paying 300,000 bayld to Ploh Trishbahk. Heorot also receives the Councilor's Garb and the Councilor's Cuffs. This wraps up the Seekers of Adoulin mission line. After the scene, Heorot talks to Ploh Trishbakh at K-9 again. It sounds like Arciela has gone to the Ceizak Battlegrounds. Heorot uses the Waypoint at K-10 to teleport to Frontier Bivouac #1 in the Ceizak Battlegrounds, East Ulbuka Territory. Ceizak Battlegrounds (time 1:05:37): Heorot arrives at H-9. He makes his way south and then east to the southeastern beach in the zone. West of where the sand starts, Heorot examines the Sandy Overlook target at J-10. This triggers a scene with Arciela. Heorot learns Trust: Arciela. Sounds like some mysterious things are afoot. Heorot returns to Frontier Bivouac #1. He uses the Waypoint at H-9 to teleport to the Rent-a-Room in Eastern Adoulin. Eastern Adoulin (time 1:21:00): Heorot uses the Survival Guide at G-11 to teleport to Bastok Mines. Bastok Mines (time 1:21:44): At the auction house, Heorot puts three chunks of Beitetsu and three Plutons up for sale. Afterwards, he enters the Residential Area. In addition to the castle's treasure, they found Namingway, now known as Mopingway. They also found the Developers' Office. Then, they set out northwest towards the Tower of Babil. Now, they will explore the lower section of this massive tower. The party resumes near the Tower of Babil in the Underworld. As they approach the tower, some brief scenes take place; the Dwarven tanks are drawing the tower's cannon fire. Tanks for the help, dwarves! Tower of Babil (time 1:18): The party arrives on floor B13 of the Tower of Babil. They can only explore the tower's lower section for now. To make matters worse, this tower is home to some nasty enemies. The Flamehounds are particularly dangerous. A trio of Flamehounds can wipe out the weaker characters with Scorch. Fortunately, they are susceptible to slow, confusion, and stop, and they are weak to ice-elemental attacks. On the upside, the party will gain levels quickly in here. In the northwest of B13, a chest contains an Emergency Exit. Rydia reaches Level 32. In the southwest of B13, another chest contains a Hi-Potion. Rosa reaches Level 33 and learns the White Magic spell Dispel. For completing the Tower of Babil B13 map, the party earns 5 Antarctic Winds. In B13's eastern alcove, a chest contains an Ether. The party takes the north-central door upstairs to floor B12. Just west of the door, a chest in the north contains a Green Beret. Yang equips this, a nominal upgrade over the Headband. In the south, the party finds a door to a small treasure room. In this tower, the chests in these rooms have monster-in-a-box battles. Before opening the chest here, Yang equips the Lightning Claws. This chest contains an Icebrand guarded by a Security Eye. When attacked, the Security Eye will summon a stronger monster into battle. In this case, the Security Eye calls a Flamehound. Hot dog! Yang can focus three times and attack with the Lightning Claws to defeat a Security Eye in one hit. After the battle, Kain reaches Level 37. Cecil reaches Level 40 and learns the White Magic spell Raise. I believe this is his last spell. Kain equips the Icebrand right away after the battle. Then, the party leaves the treasure room. For completing the Tower of Babil B12 map, the party earns 3 Arctic Winds. The eastern door in the south of B12 leads to another monster-in-a-box. The chest contains an Ice Lance guarded by a Security Eye. In this case, the Security Eye summons a Naga. After the battle, Rydia reaches Level 33 and learns the Black Magic spell Osmose.
