Unlike most other sites, I have rhymed the SUN-skrit (not SANS-krit) words with English words so that the pronunciation is easier to replicate.
...for example, the word BodhiSutva is commonly mispronounced, and tends to sound like Bodhi SAT va, however the sound is 'SUT' which is similar to the sound of the English word :BUT'.
Sanskrit pronunciations are an integral part of yoga, and even though they are proper nouns, and a little deviation is allowed...It is always better to learn to use our articulators (mouth, tongue, palate, teeth etc.) correctly, and to know which syllable to stress on, so that we can pronounce the word correctly.
We tend to look at spellings and not listen to the sounds of the sunskrit संस्कृत (not SAN-skrit) pronunciations for yoga poses. Please click on the youtube videos to access the correct pronunciations as per the Devanagiri script.
Unlike English, in Hindi/Sanskrit, the way we pronounce a word is exactly the way it is spelled which leaves no ambiguity. When converting Sanskrit or Hindi words into English, the pronunciations change and are often mispronounced.

A peaceful equilibrium invites you to touch base with your breath and expand into the awareness of sensations ~ not a new concept but sometimes we need repetition in order for concepts to resonate...as i continuously rework my style to keep things fresh.

The holidays are a very busy time for everyoneThere’s always additional stress which is compounded by a sense of a frantic need to accomplish things. A kind of hustle bustle that leaves us feeling exhausted. This might in turn even affect our perception of the holiday season, and we may lose out on the richness and blessings because we are so caught up in planning, prepping. Even if we are alone on these joyous occasions we can still embraceIt.Keep a pen and paper handy – in case anything pops into your mind and you want to make a note of it

Anulom Vilom is a specific type of pranayama, or controlled breathing, in yoga. It involves holding one nostril closed while inhaling, then holding the other nostril closed while exhaling. The process is then reversed and repeated. aka alternate nostril breathing.
Alternate nostril breathing is said to have many physical and psychological benefits, including:
improved breathing
improved cardiovascular function
stress reduction
improved patience, focus, and control
relief from stress and anxiety
improvements to brain, respiratory, and cardiovascular health
a better overall sense of well-being
There’s scientific evidence that supports some of these claims. Most people can practice Anulom Vilom breathing safely and without risk. Potential Anulom Vilom benefits
As you gain more awareness and control over your breathing, you may find that it has an immediate calming effect.
There are many potential benefits. Some specific claims are backed by research, but some have not been fully studied.
Practicing Anulom Vilom breathing first thing in the morning may help you start your day in a better place. In the evening, it can also serve as a relaxation method to promote better sleep.
There’s also evidence that alternate nostril breathing can benefit your brain as well as your respiratory and cardiovascular systems. It’s shown to reduce stress, too. These are changes that can affect every aspect of your health and well-being.
Your respiratory system
Yoga breathing practices may improve lung function and endurance, according to a small 2017 study.
This research involved competitive swimmers who used alternate nostril breathing along with two other breathing practices. Participants did 30 minutes worth of breathing exercises 5 days a week for 1 month.
A 2019 literature review of 68 studies found that yogic breathing is an effective way to enhance lung function.
Other research from 2013 showed that Anulom Vilom breathing for 30 minutes a day can improve rhinosinusitis, or sinus inflammation. This condition interferes with your ability to drain mucus from your nose and sinuses.
Your brain
In a randomized controlled trial Trusted Source from 2013, 96 medical students were divided into two groups for 6 weeks. One group performed Anulom Vilom and Bhastrika, another type of pranayama. The other group performed Surya Namaskar, also known as the Sun Salutation.
Both groups improved their general well-being, but only the pranayama group saw significant improvements in cognition and anxiety.
A 2019 literature review suggested that various types of yogic breathing could benefit neurocognitive, psychophysiological, biochemical, and metabolic functions in healthy people.
Your cardiovascular system
Studies from 2011 and 2013 found that alternate nostril breathing had a positive impact on cardiovascular function, lowering blood pressure and heart rate.
Your skin
There are many anecdotal claims that Anulom Vilom breathing is good for the skin. Skin is the largest organ of the body and — like your respiratory and cardiovascular systems — it can also be affected by stress.
It’s possible that your skin will reap some reward from breathing exercises, though there’s a lack of research to support this specific claim.
Your eyes
There’s little in the way of research on Anulom Vilom breathing and eyesight. It is known, however, that eye health depends on a good supply of oxygen.
Alternate nostril breathing can improve respiratory and cardiovascular health, so it may provide some benefit for your eyes too.
Possible risks
Anulom Vilom breathing should be safe and risk-free for most people who don’t have health issues. According to the 2019 literature review mentioned earlier, yogic breathing is safe when guided by a trained teacher.
Anulom Vilom is safe for most people, but those with chronic respiratory or cardiovascular problems should speak with a doctor first.

when we lose someone or something that we value, we grieve. This allows us to feel the pain of loss and mourn for that which we no longer have in our life.
But when we take the time out to mourn, we are able to accept the reality of the situation. We shed the cloak of numbness that we use to protect our self from. And begin to allow the dark clouds to recede.
It takes time and courage to grieve and respect the pain that comes with it.
We grieve in many different ways, it could be with tears, or meditative silence, through prayer or song but whatever methods we use to grieve, there might always be a sense of vulnerability, helplessness or even a sense of hopelessness.
We must find a healthy way to mourn, whether that is with the help of friends or family, so that we don’t shut out the light. So that we don’t harden our hearts. So that we can blossom in the healing.

There is no denying that holidays are stressful. Instead of being able to enjoy the peaceful or joyful aspect of this season, we might find that we are even more stressed than usual. Dealing with interpersonal relationship dramas, or hosting the perfect meal or party can leave us feeling exhausted and full of anxiety.
We tend to have an idealistic sense of how the holidays should be, with expectations and plans some of which might not be met – leaving us frustrated, upset and clashing with loved one.
Try not to get sucked into the media images of how holidays should be, or messages that one will find happiness in the consumeristic culture we live.
Instead of trying to aim for the perfect holiday celebration, we can prepare ourself to expect that things will probably not go the way we want them to – accept this reality and instead embrace the true meaning which is about spending time together with friends and family, realizing how blessed we are, and find humour in situations that might not be funny.
When we let go of expectations, we open our selves up to all the possibilities for joy and connection.
