Lootbox "Law" is getting silly in The Netherlands
Lootbox "law", or at least how the not existing law is being applied by certain developers and/or publishers, has started to become pretty silly in the Netherlands. Entire games not releasing... ingame currency lootboxes not being available... and that's not even to speak about how there ISN'T A LAW against most of the lootboxes in the first place. Just a report from our gambling commission.
The message seems clear, if your country dares look into the ethics of lootboxes and you're not as gigantic a market as the US or UK the game developers/publishers will just stop bothering to even attempt to make sense.
Thus we are now at the situation where Black Desert Online consistently puts players at a tangible ingame disadvantage because they can't participate in INGAME events for which INGAME currency is used.

Amazon happened to post the exact dates on which the beta redemption keys would be sent out... and yea that obviously wasn't meant for the public. Various gaming news publications have confirmed when we can expect the next mainline fallout game... and yea I hope you're strapped in for the long run because it will be a bit of time. Like a lot a lot of time. Optimistically 2023 has Starfield, then 2-3 years for Elder Scrolls 6, then 2-3 years for Fallout 5... Yea, 2029 Fallout 5? :D

A full year after the game released Elden Ring DLC was finally announced, in the form of the upcoming expansion "Shadow of the Erdtree". Much more we don't know yet, although we do know it is coming to all devices that have Elden Ring, aka Ps4, Ps5, Xbox one, Xbox Series and PC!

Lost Ark just came out over in the west, and the launch has been a bit of bumpy road - but also hugely enjoyable if you enjoy MMORPGs and/or ARPG. Definitely reaching more than the expected niche audience due to the sheer amount of marketing dollars that Amazon is putting in towards streamers.
I thought I'd check in and have a bit of a chat about Lost Ark's launch and my experience with the issues that have presented so far. There might be more Lost Ark content in the future! :D

Escape from Tarkov developer Battlestate games has announced a new spin-off game that will be available as both stand-alone game as well as DLC (included for free in the Darkness edition).
As someone myself that would be interested in understanding the gunplay of Tarkov better before jumping into the dangerous, stressful world of full-loot Tarkov I think this could be the perfect compromise to have more people enjoy the game.

the-dark-souls-of-mmorpgs-new-world
Amazon's New World game's preview came out last week, and therefore this here is my thought and opinions on what I've played... Well part of it, I was going to include everything about trade-skills as well, but the video was going to be 7000 years long.
My main praise definitely goes to the combat system. Without it the game would probably be a complete failure considering the quest system is a very thinly veiled gameplay device. The game also has recently made a shift from a PvP focused game to a PvE focused game. That is also fairly noticeable in the "lack" of diverse content. Despite this lack I've still managed to put in a good 50 hours in the past week... so I guess it's doing something right.
